I have the short box, and with the max turn technology built into the nose of the new trailers, I have found no reason to get a slider. I can get about 88 degrees, which is very sharp. If I need to turn sharper than that, I am doing something wrong and should pull forward and try again, or just get a different spot. While sliders used to be necessary, I believe with the right trailer you do not need one. Saves cost and weight.

You don't say which pickup you have, the Dodge mounts the B&W 7-8" farther forward than a Ford. The B&W shop told me with my F350 I would be fine with no slider and I am. I don't think a 90* is possible but I don't turn that sharp anyway. I have almost 48" from pin to back of cab on my F350 SB.(with the new design trailer rounded front)
