My First Big pull

I just pulled over 2000 miles from Bellingham, Washington to El Paso Texas this past week via Yellowstone National Park. We spent 2 nights in Yellowstone. I was amazed at how easy these Tanas are to pull and manuever. I had a blast. My wife wasnt quite brave enough to drive, or shall I say, I wasnt quite brave enough to let her drive.

I will be working in the El Paso area for a while. It is a FAR CRY different than Washington. Actually, I'm happy to see the sun !!!!

Cool! Isn't it wonderful that we can tow our home wherever we want to go? As for traveling, I have had the good fortune to visit quite a number of foreign countries, but have never really been out of the western United States. Now I get to see the different landscapes and peoples - it is great!

Good luck with your work in El Paso.

It is great that the towing experience is not difficult and can even be enjoyable. It makes the traveling adventure that much easier. Congratulations on a successful first trip. I hope you still like El Paso in July and August!

Glad to hear you are on the road but sorry we didn't get to meet you while you were in Bellingham. We arrived out here about 3 weeks ago and you were probably already on the road. Enjoy that Texas heat!! We are enjoying the WA cool. Hope to meet you down the road sometime.

Hi James glad to hear you had a great trip. It was great to see you and your wife before you left. Our Monty arrived minus the fireplace but they are going to put it in. We are taking it out to the Cedars in Ferndale this weekend. Hope you are coming up this way again so we can get together.

IMHO, it's not the Montana...it's the TV. Put your stick house on wheels and any one of these diesels could pull it.

Right with you there James. I made my first "big" pull a couple months ago from Morgan City Louisiana to Long Beach Ca, 1900 miles, and it was great. Most of the time I didn't even know the Minty was back there.

Glad to hear everything when well with the Tanna, and you guys had a great trip. We know what you are talking about when you refer to seeing the sun. It rained part of yesterday, cloudy most of the day, and highs only in the 50s! Today its suppose to get into the mid 60s. Can't wait to retire and move to the sun country. Good luck on the new job, and take care.

Keep safe and hope to see you on the road some day.

Be sure to keep them off as much as possible. I had a new Veh in 91 and those Love bugs ruined the paint because I didn't get them off fast enough. Did lots of damage. Good Luck.. GBY.....

Not to get off subject,,but for you guys having problems with love bugs, Rainex makes an excellent windshield fluid that does a great job and when you get to your destination use some dryer softener sheets (new or used) to remove them from everything like magic.

Garin, do you use the RainX windshield fluid to help remove bugs or do you apply it in advance to keep the bugs from sticking? Curious minds....

I have some of that fluid in my toolbox.

Blue - good to hear from you and glad you had a nice trip! I agree on the ride. Aside from the TV, I really think that Mor-Ryde makes a big difference. Very little jostling of stuff in the back.
