Queen size mattress question ??

RV Newbee. We are in the process of purchasing a privately owned used 2005 Montana 2955RL (dual slide). Unfortunately at the moment, someone is staying in it so I can't measure the bed but I have been inside to see it. At a glance it "looked like" a short (RV) queen but for the life of me I can't find the exact dimensions of it on the internet (which I find strange). Some of the floor plans I found say the queens are 60 x 80 but I am thinking that isn't the case? Would appreciate some perspective on this?? ... thanks.

You will not know what mattress it has until you can measure it; or get the owner to measure it for you.

Our unit came with an RV King. We replaced it with the same size. If replacing the mattress, also consider the thickness of the mattress. Some of the mattresses you see in the store will be 13"+ thick and may not work well in the RV.

These guys have a nice product and are good to work with.

Having had a 2955RL I can tell you if the bed is wall to wall it is a King. If there is space under the nightstands, it is a queen. The dimensions in the brochure are accurate for each size (assuming a previous owner didn't do something crazy)

I agree with Carl, we had a 2010 2955RL and replaced the OEM mattress with a King Sleep Number, 72x80 with the curved corners to clear the vanity.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I have attached the 2005 - 2955RL floor plan for our model to this email. It doesn't give any dimensions but might provide some insight? All it says is "Queen Width Bed"? All I remember from my first visit was that the bed looked a bit short. I'll be able to get my measuring tape in soon I hope. The reason I was pursuing this is that a new unopened "RV Queen mattress" just came up on a local Craig's List at a "very" cheap price so I thought it would be good to grab it? Will ask them to give me the measurements including "thickness".

The RV mattress is 80" long (deep) to clear the dresser when the slide comes in. Width is 72" for a king, and I think, 60" for a queen.

I would measure it the space when the slide is all the way in, so you dont smash the little dresser on the other side. Im guessing a normal queen or a rv king (rv king is shorter than a normal king @ 80").
