Where is the best place to mount a hardwired surge protector?

2021 3121rl, I put it right next to the auto Transfer Switch (basically right behind the stairs). There was a good amount of room there and the wires were long enough to reach without issue.

I think mine is also under the steps. The hard wired advantage is if the cord or the connections are bad, it picks that up vs on the post, it will miss a bad cord, etc.

I mounted it on basement wall opposite the transfer switch next to vacuum. I had no need for the transfer switch and removed it to make the connections easier.

Surge protector or EMS? If you’re going to go to the trouble of doing a full installation make sure it’s an EMS for more complete electrical protection.
I also mounted ours behind the basement wall behind the steps.

I mounted my Hughes equipment under the stairs. Mine are not hardwired, but mounting is the same.

I mounted our Progressive EMS behind the electric panel in the bathroom. There was plenty of room, so mounted it on the exterior wall and installed the remote display to the right of the electric panel. The EMS is attached to where the light is shining on the wall in the photo.

On our 3121 we mounted the Progressive EMS behind the electric panel, behind the basement wall. Ran the display wires up the wall to the cabinet control center and mounted the control display there so it was near all the other unit controls.
Sorry i don't have photos of that yet
