Exhaust Brake

I just had an exhaust brake installed. Wow I should have done this long ago. After replacing my TV brakes I thought I should do what other folks have told me.."be safe and get more braking power for this heavy rig". I feel so much more in control going down these montain roads.
I recommend the exhaust brake to any of you diesel driver....

Thank you for the positive report on the exhaust brake. This will be a project real soon and before I take any mountain trails.

We had the BD exhaust brake put on our Duramax just before we picked up our 2980. I'd hate to think about pulling the rig without the exhaust brake.

I put theWestern Diesel Turbo Brake on my F350 when I first bought it. The dealer said Ford did not recomend the exhaust brake for the Ford truck.
After trips through the Rocky Mtns. and other places I would hate to go downhill without it.
When you take your foot off the gas, you have a 1 second delay then you can feel it slowing.
The way it works is it shuts the turbo down and therefore slows the truck with the engine like a gas engine does.
Just another way to do it.

What brand brake did you have installed and is your Dodge a manual or auto tranny?

We just put a Gayle Banks Exhaust with a torque converter lockup. We love it. The difference between traveling with and without it is just incredible. Take our advice and get it. What a difference. Soooooo impressive. Paul
