3500HD Sierra 2018

Just looking for someone who has a Sierra SB, single rear wheel. Would like to talk to them...soon.
Wife and I fell in love with the Denali....of course the higher priced model. Go figure.
Would like to know about the hitch as well as the truck in general. MPG, pulling, etc.

I have a Chevy 2015 SB SRW duramax and I get 10-11.5 mpg pulling depending on speed, wind, and terrain and close to 20 mpg on the interstate without the trailer going 70+. This is one generation behind yours on the engine I believe but it’ll give you a point of reference.

Mine is the LTZ so one model below a Denali/High Country trim. I have an aftermarket (not from Factory) Curt Slider hitch. Overall pulls well and no concerns to date.

2016 GMC Sierra Denali, quad cab, full 8'box, Duramax/Allison, SRW 3500. Towing anywhere from 11-13 mpg, seems sweet spot is around 62 for best mileage. Unloaded 21 to 23 mpg. Of course a head wind will eat your mileage while towing. I know you are talking about a SB, but this should be in the ball park.

I have the 2017 CC 3500hd SRW Denali, like it a lot, had a 2015 CC SRW 2500hd Chevrolet LTZ previously and a 2006 Sierra 2500hd. The new one has way more power, quieter, like the steering better and the exhaust brake is more aggressive than the 2015. Uses a little more DEF than the 2015 but that could be because it is still newish at just under 10,000k now.

very pleased with our '18 2500 CC shorty, 20-21 not towing this trip running 70-80mph.
Towing 12ish at reasonable speeds, set cruise and tow haul activate exhaust brake and the electronics operate perfectly to maintain speed up or down hill.
I installed a PullRite superslide 18k, and 22k superrail base kit.

Word of caution: GM adds and brochure will tell you all about the covers in the bed for the Puck System, BUT you have to make sure it has the frame work under the bed! That frame work does not come with the Towing option package, the frame work is a $370.00 option Fifthwheel/Gooseneck Prep Package.
If I hadn't know that fact and had just let the Dealer order my High Country I would have had to order a rail kit.
I started with just the LT Trim but didn't include some option we wanted, then looked at the LTZ trim, still the same, by the time we added what we wanted we were at the High Country price, so we just went Whole Hog and went with the High Country but only had to add three options to it, the puck prep, skid plates, and Roll-n-Lock Toneau Cover.

I’am sure you will be happy with the Denali. We bought a 2017 High Country dually and it’s a real nice truck.Plenty of power to hall any RV you want.
All 3 brands are nice but I thought for the money the GM has more to offer.Good luck and enjoy.

Very nice, congrats!! The Denali is a nice truck. I went back and forth between that and the Chevy High Country, I ended up with the Chevy

What I Like Best

I have a Chevy 2015, 3500, LB, Crew Cab and get 12 mpg towing the trailer and near 20 when not towing. What I like best about it is that its totally paid for. I don't think I would ever pay 70K plus for a new truck. . .unless I win the lottery. LOL

I recently bought a 2018 Denali 3500HD, SRW Ive got 6,000 milles on it but only about 1,000 towing Averaging 10.5-11 mpg. Hoping that will increase as the engine wears in. Had a 2015 Silverado 2500HD avg was 11 mpg I definitely can tell the difference in the increased horsepower and torque.

Did you have any height problems? I just picked up my new Sierra Friday. Have a 2006 Montana 2955. Trying to figure out if I have to flip axle to get clearance. The bed sides are 5 inches taller than my old F250.

The axles are already above the springs (flipped) so you will have to adjust the hitch and pin box to achieve the clearance you need.

I don't have any height problems. Used the same hitch height settings as I had on my Silverado

2018 Denali 3500 SRW, $62,650 out the door, including the Curt turn-over ball hitch (I use an Andersen hitch)
