New Dodge's Delayed?
I'm trying to sort out fact from fiction. My dealer tells me my truck is due to ship Monday. I haven't received confirmation that it is in build yet. And last night I read on the Cummins Forum that the 3500's are delayed indefinitely because of a Major frame issue. Will I be driving a shiny new Chevy instead of a Dodge?

I would have your dealer show you the build info he has access to from the factory. They could find that in about 10 minutes.

A shiny new Chevy wouldn't be bad

Try to keep the excitement under control until the truck is sitting on the dealers lot. I ordered a new Chevy last year. 2 Weeks later I get the call from the dealer that the truck just arrived at the Depot and should be on his lot in the next few days. The truck was only 10 miles from the lot. Took 3 weeks to make the 10 mile trip. The dealer even tried to pick the truck up from the depot directly and they would not allow him. He had never seen one sit there that long before. The longest he had ever seen one take from the time it hit the depot was 1 week.
Enjoy the Dodge and hope you do not experience any lengthy delays.

Yeah the last and only time I ordered a vehicle I learned when they say it has been "shipped" that really means it is sitting in the parking lot at the factory waiting for a truck to come and get it and it could be several weeks.

Don't let the delay cause you to do something drastic like buying a Chevy! Ouch, Chevy lovers, I am just kidding.

I know my truck sat in a depot in Michigan for a considerable time. I don't think they ship until the have a truckload for the dealers in the area.

Don't Ram 2500 & 3500 have the same frame?

Hope that's not true, all we need is frame flex on both ends.

Due to the wide dual wheels on the rear, they can't load up the trailer with duallies. Since they don't fit, they can only take only one or two per load. Therefore, if takes longer to move them out.

I am noticing that we are a sarcastic lot. Dodge Vots website still doesn't show it going to build, yet customer service and dealer show it going on a train on March 6th. It is "supposed" to be at the dealer around March 18th. We're moving the rest of our furniture to Colorado March 22nd. We will then be living in our Monty when we get back at the end of March. Technically, if I had it before April 26th, I would be okay. Tentatively, we will become Colorado residents somewhere in May.

Ron, my question was of concern that you either did not have frame issues or that Dodge didn't tell you anything. Can you clarify what they are telling you? Concerned.

Dennis, first, I like the sarcasm on here so I am not complaining. The frame issues were brought up on the Cummins Forum. Dodge has said nothing. I have gotten information from Dodge, the dealer and the website with different information. Vots says that it is scheduled. Dealer and Dodge say it should be on the train today. I will keep you posted.

Talked to my dealer tonight. Not only did the truck not load today, the dealer can't even get an answer from Ram on what's happening. I guess I'll call Ram tomorrow.

Sat in a new 2013 Lomghorn Ram 2500 last night and a 2013 Sierra Denali. I can wait until mid April but I run out of time on it then. I like new too.
