Proof, no stinking fuel prices are gonna stop us!

Some of you may have read my little rant about the higher fuel prices and how we were NOT staying home cause of em.

Proof positive, we really mean business.

May Big Butt RIP, he took us on fine trips and adventures for 9 years, the memories are vivid and strong.

And, now, on to more adventures and trips, with - - - the new ride.

Now all you need is to pull into a Montana dealership and pick up a new one of those to go with the NEW Big Butt!
You will never be able to wipe that smile off of Al's face! It has a tendency to continue and there are ssssssooooooooo many goodies you can put on the new TV! Congrats and hope to see it soon!

Nice truck! Hope you two are as happy with the Ram as we have been with ours. Jim
P.S. Are the two of you still in Gulf Shores?

jimcol, we are still in Gulf Shores, till around March 20th.

Rondo, the add ons will be (some are already done):

hitch re-install

tool box re-install

new sliding top thingy (he got the Cadillac edition), goes on tomorrow

mud flaps all the way around

rain guards on the windows, all the way around.

extension of the electric plug for Tana brakes, into the bed.

There is not much else to do to this ride. Even the truck shop could not find anything more, much to his disappointment. Well, he does have one small idea, but, it better not cost much, need to save the rest of our $$ for that fuel!

And, Yes, MynaBird, I am using those heated seats! WHHOOOOOOOTTTTT!!

Hope you love your new Dodge as much as we love ours. When it gets hot you'll love the cooling seats also. The one thing I thought was extra turned out to be the first thing we really needed. The cell phones going thru the radio let's me call Joyce on her cell phone and she directs me back into the spots. We call ours Brutus.

Very very nice Al and Carol. Many days of travel ahead and be damned the fuel prices. Its just part of living for us. Save a little here and spend it there. Life as usual!!

Sounds like the toys are being added and your on your way. Have fun!!

Congrats, you will love the New Ram Truck. We have it's little brother. You are in Gulf Shores? If you're still in the area in April go east to Ho-Hum, located just east of Carrabelle Florida. We will be there the month of April.

Thanks yall

southern thunder, by April (current plan, always changeable) we will be somewhere up the east coast. There is a family event I want to try to make and then we will head this train, err, truck and Tana, back to SE Michigan. We (again, current plan) will pretty much stay there till Fall Rally and Nov 15th hope to head out for another L*O*N*G trip, "Q" in our headlights and more - -

Very cool! Happy for Al (MAN)! Al you fell for the sleek rear end curves of the Ram truck, you had talked about how you liked the look of the Dodge! Boy I was hoping you would stay in the GM family, so we could swap truck stories. She is a pretty thing looks like the color should accent the Tana colors? Come on down to southern Florida weathers been great! We'll be kicking some names around for the new money pit. Lol

Well, if anyone thought this lifestyle gets you 35 mpg, they are probably towing a 14,000GW trailer with a Toyota Tundra!

I don't do FaceBook, but I like "Bigger Butt" as a nickname for your new TV.

pineranch, Actually, I did give that thought some consideration! Not that it would not fit, but, that it would NOT get stuck like poor Big Butt did backing UP that gravel and soft sand hill with a steep blind side turn into the site. I still say, if someone (Man, aka CountryGuy) had seen what I saw he might have pulled down the hill and told me we are going somewhere else! That was some shoehorn event, whewie! Course, that said, I would not have had a story if we had not had BB stuck, that kind of story is good for the blood pressure, I can tell ya that!

patbarton, name suggestion noted, and we thank you. So many good suggestions, this ride could end up with a name like a king or papered pooch, L*O*N*G!!!!

nunya, Moab is one of our fav places, not sure it will be next winter, but, if we show up, we will need that extra parking spot again, thanks!!!

Illini Trekker, we drove em all, Ford, Chevy, Dodge. Ford, well, did not work for us. Chevy, loved the back seat configuration, but the front seat creature comforts were lacking. Dodge, back seat configuration, not the best, it is now FULL of stuff, but that front seat creature comfort zone is, well, WOW!

As with RV's there is no perfect truck, but, this one fit the most parameters for us. I love that we still have available choices in trucks, WOOT!!!
