Which Washer

We have been reading up on the Splendide washer and dryer combo units. We don't know which one to get the vented or the ventless? and why?

Thanks for sharing you knowledge and experience to us newbies.

I went with the vented. It requires drilling a 4" hole in the outside wall. It lets the hot (moist) air vent outside the trailer. I just gave you my con/pro for why I went with the vented.

edit - we had the combo unit and upgraded to the stacked.
Combo very small loads and the dryer function seemed to wrinkle the cloths a lot. The Stacked units (separate units) works a lot better.
Both of ours are 120 VAC so we can use them on 30 AMP service and just select when we use other high amperage appliances.

We too have the Splendide combo and love it. Ours is vented because is gets the moisture out of the rig and clothes dry faster with venting.

We bought the vented model also to get the hot moist air out of the 5th wheel. We were on a 3 week holiday to Arizona with 1 week dry camping. The other 2 week we did 20+ loads that would put a lot of moisture in the unit.

Went with the vented model also!! Had it installed at the dealership and the outside vent looks like it came from the factory like that.

We bought a combo unit and didn't like it. Loads are small and it takes a long time to wash and dry a load. We went with stackable front load units. Dryer is vented and is 120 volts not 240.

We have the vented outside and dw loves it. Not only does the vented get the moisture out of the rig, it also gets the lint out too!
Here in our winter home(Fla), we pay the electric bill, so dw washes and then hangs the clothes out to dry, when at a cg, she dries them in the w/d.

Vented.. Combo. Stacked..they all do smaller loads and take longer when compared to the stick home models We have the Combo unit. Would have preferred the stackable but did not want to sacrifice the room for it. The combo works for us. We have all the time in the world to wash clothing.

Combo unit, same reason as Rich states, did not want to give up any more precious real estate.

Yes, smaller loads, but, you figure out how to do the laundry so that wrinkles, etc., are minimum.

This is our first long trip with the W/D, the laundress (me) is happy!

We bought a combo unit in our new camper because we didnt have the space for the stackable. We had the stackable front load units. Dryer is vented and is 120 volts not 240.in our other montana.my wife like them both.....

If cost is a consideration to you I bought a Haier combo unvented unit for under $600. The ventless units discharge the water into the drain pipe on the dry cycle, not into the air. There is heat that comes off in the dry cycle but no moisture. If we were fulltimers I would get a stacked unit.

We have had the Splendide Combo (vented) and the Splendide Ariston stackable. Room isn't a issue with us, so if you have the room I would recomend a Stackable W/D, and you then can wash and dry at the same time. I would have no problem going wiht the Splendide Ariston stackable. We now have the front loaders by Whirlpool and they are located in the bedroom slide and set side by side. The losd capacity is close to the Whirlpool W/D we have in the stick house. The dryer isn't as fast as the stick house. However the difference is 110 volts vs 240 volts. We have been very pleased with the Whirlpool W/D and we think the Whirlpool doesn't make as much noise as the Splendide. But again thats a choice you have to make. Good Luck. GBY....

We have the Splindide combo vented unit. There are procedures to doing laundry with it that are slightly different than a home unit. Once we learned how to use it correctly, we've had no problem s with it.

We are full timers. Have the combo vented. Talked to several people that had the unvented and they all liked them. But we went with the vented. Love it. Wouldn't be without it. Wrinkles can be handled by doing small loads and setting it on the right setting for the clothes you are washing. Over drying causes wrinkles so we try not to do that.

We have the larger capacity vented Splendide. The stackables are nice but will not fit when the W/D space is next to the front closet.

Jackie and I just bought a Splendide washer and dryer combo model 2100xc and love it. It vents to the outside. Bought it at Camping World in Mesa 2 weeks ago. On sale for $989 . Had to drill a 4" hole for the vent. Installed in about 1 hour. Hardest part was to find a 4" hole saw.

We have a non-Splendide stack that is apartment sized so does considerably larger loads than the rv-specific units, whether combo or stack.

I have no firsthand experience but have read numerous times the main drawback to the unvented model is a considerably longer time to dry clothes. Again, no firsthand experience but I've seen that comment many times.

We have the vented Splendide combo and love it. I once had a stackable in a previous 5er. Now that I learned how to do it without a lot of wrinkles, I am so happy with it. The front loaders get the clothes cleaner and you don't use much detergent (1 ot 2 Tbs at most). I also prefer having the extra space.

I had intentions of getting the vent less washer but when I got it home it was the one with the vent. I haven’t been sorry after I’ve heard so much about how they work better. Ours is the Splendide combo unit.

Thanks to everyone it looks like the vented is the way we will go. What are some of the tricks you have learned to get cloths dry without wrinkles? What detergent do you like best for these washers?(Splendide combo units).
