Ford Owners

I don't mean to be an alarmist, but yesterdays San Antonio newspaper listed a recall for Ford trucks having to do with brakes. Please don't quote me on this, or kill the messenger, but it may be worth checking out with a local Ford dealer. Not owning a Ford, I did not get the full details and have already thrown out yesterdays paper.

Perhaps someone has the correct info they could post???

I just checked on the NHTSA site and did not find any new info on ford trucks. unless ford motor is doing a recall on it's own.

If it's not one of these, if anyone hears anything please post:

I do have a 2006 Ford F-250/F350 and would be interested in whatever is out there. A notice might be forthcoming, but knowing in advance is certainly a lot better.

Thanks for the headsup, Phil.

On edit: I have read that a Toyota recall has been expanded to include their truck and SUVs for the "floor mat may cause the pedal to get stuck".

There were recalls relating to cruise control on several Ford vehicles. On my 1999 F-250 the recall for that cruise control involved the replacement of a brake sensor on the end of the power brake master cylinder. It looked to me like the brake light switch sensor. I do not know what else was replaced in the process of the recall repair. The problem allowed brake fluid to leak, which would then cause a fire. Give Your Ford Dealer the VIN number and they can tell You if Your vehicle is involved in the recall, or if it was repaired already by a previous owner. They did not charge me for this repair and I am the second owner.

After all the repairs of my front brakes four times in 2500 miles in 2009, I wish there had been a recall!
