Cowboy Trivia
We were entertaining some friends a few weeks ago when the topic of the old TV westerns came up. Well "partner" a few bottles of wine later and we were still trying to stump each other with trivia questions. Since I expect many of you also are "seasoned" enough to remember the old shows I thought I would start a little game on-line. Here are a few starter questions:
1. Rowdy Yates was played by what actor? What was the show? What was his job?
2. Who was "Marked with a coward's shame"?
3. What show's theme song started with "Whistle me up and whistle me down, whistle me all around the town.?
4. Who was the "Rebel"? What was his character's name?
5. Who were the "Maverick" brothers?
6. Who preferred his cane to a gun for defeating the bad guys?

That one almost stumped me Dave. Was it Yancy Derringer? I had to do some stumbling around till I found it.

Way to go Roger. I thought I had given too many clues but if you had a hard time figuring it our then I guess it was ok. I can't remember for sure what his name was, was it PaHoo? The only I could watch it was when we visited my grand parents in Chicago, it played on WGN channel 9. We couldn't get that up in Beloit... Dave

Pahoo sounds right. BTW the answer to my third question is Tombstone Territory. I can still hear the theme now. It was called "Whistle Me a Memory".
If you are up for another one?
What Western "Dad" was know as "the Voice of Doom" during WW2?

Lorne Green. He was a radio news announcer up here in Canada and because there wasn't much good news in the beginning the bad news and given in his deep voice got him the nickname.
Steve McQueen and I think it was Josh Randell. I didn't look it up so I may be wrong.
