Insurance

Since we will be fulltiming as of 9 Nov 06, and will not have a stick built home, we are having to drop our homeowner's insurance. AAA has been our been our insurer for home, auto, trailer, umbrella policy, etc. They will no longer cover the Montana since we'll be living in it fulltime. We contacted Good Sam to get quotes but are not happy with the options they gave us.

Who has good insurance coverage for fulltimers that will include auto, truck, trailer, plus liability similar to our homeowner's?

Thanks

Bill,

You might check out Progressive. They seem to have multi-lines of insurance products. Perhaps they can cover your needs. They are on line at http//rv.progressive.com. As a matter of fact, they have what they call a "Fulltimers Package".

I recently checked into insurance coverage on a Montana (that we don't have - yet) just to see what was available (trying to cover all bases before we take this leap-lol). My niece is actually our ins. agent and through their office they only have Progressive to offer us for full-timing in an RV and from what she told me and I understood it seemed like a pretty good pkg. For us, we would be getting a little bit cheaper rate as our Montana will be sitting in only one campground for a year or two as we have to stay local for our work for now and near my father. We won't be traveling with it at all until we get the proper tow vehicle. (First we have to sell our house and then choose the Montana we want).

We have National Interstate for RV and fulltimers coverage (with full replacement first 5 years) and Progressive/Drive for the truck. In both cases, that was the best deal for our address in South Dakota. It seems in different locations different companies may have the best deal.

Either Progressive or National Interstate could meet all our insurance needs but the choices we made included price. There are other companies, as well, but these two we have experience with.
