Front living room problem?
I really like the 3685FL. I called my dealer and he informed me he didn't have any on the lot because he said that they don't move. He said he sold 67 Montanas last year and he had a FL on the lot all year and never sold it. He said he didn't know why. Seems strange. Am I the only one that likes the looks of these or is there another problem I don't know about? I asked if there was additional pin weight ~ he said no. Any input?

We didn't like the powder room being off the bedroom. When You have guests they have to go into the bedroom the use the bath. Otherwise it was a contender. We were between the layout we got and the FL. They had a leftover that we could have got for the same money.
It's all a matter of personal choice, those that have them love them.

We really love ours it is quieter in the bed room and I like the bathroom in the bed room it makes it all appear larger, the draw back is if you have guests you must pick up and make the bed

I'm looking at the floor plans. Don't all Montanas have the bathroom off the bedroom?

We love the open look, but with two seperate areas the FL provides. There is no additional pin weight, meybe even a little less, depending on the amount of "stuff" under the bed and in the rear closets/storage area.
We seldom have overnight guests, except an occasional grandkid, so the "loo" being near the bedroom is not a problem. I also thought it was the same position relative to the bedroom area in all the models...haven't looked at floor plans to verify.
In short, you aren't alone....we really like the FL layout.

Yes they all have the bath in the bedroom but we have a solid wood sliding door to close. The real door was a major selling point, the curtain will not do!

We decided on the 3400RL because I can't get up the stairs that often. With the bedroom upstairs I would only be up there when I got up or went to bed. Or the other thing!!!! (You Know what I mean) LOL. Climbing up and down to get to the livingroom wasn't something that I really wanted to be doing. Having the kitchen and the living area all on the lower level was just a better idea. I guess if you aren't handicaped then it would be nice. But for me it was not an option. Kathi

We took delivery of our new front livingroom last tuesday 7/26 from a dealer in Lancaster Pa.. You are right about them moving slow on the dealer lots. We had a local dealer (in Delaware) that had on for 9 months on his lot and was $4500.00 more than the dealer in Lancaster Pa. We got a site at a Delaware beach for a month and then we will do some weekend traveling. As for the unit we love it. Found only minor problems. We have 2 boys who sleep up front. Works out real well. We tow with an 05 dodge 3500 dually. Pulls really well. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me at kbr278@aol.com

Kevin and Denise,
Congrats on your new unit. I think you have gathered that each unit has a draw for some people and not for all. We really liked the upstairs LR but I needed a desk and work station when we bought so the 3400 appealed to us. Sounds like the 2 couches up there work great for your two boys. Your family will have lots of fun with the Monty.
Happy trails...............

I also like the desk/workstation. Wish they could configure that into the FL

I picked up my FL the end of June and already have 3000 miles and 10 camping nights on it. The dealer did say this model was a slow mover, and since he was expecting the 06 models soon, I got a VERY good deal. I absolutely love the FL, but as stated numerous times, and just like our stick houses, floor plans are a personal thing. What I like may not suit you at all.

That's the beauty of different floor plans. Everyone can get what they want and be happy about there purchase. The FL really works for our family and place in time now. maybe later in life I will not like doing the stairs so much. But for us right now we like it.

Dsprik, re your question about pinweights -- here's the 2005 specs so you can see relative pinweight. Be aware for most models these numbers are lower than you will experience.

My hubby liked the front living room on the Monty, but the head room wasn't the greatest.. I am near 6' and he is 6'2"... so it was a factor... We looked at a front living room cypress (newmar) and it had lots of head room... but was 40' long and weighed about 6K more than the 3295 does dry... so we are still going with that model.. should have it and be "moved in" in about two-three weeks...

Ours works great. We were looking at something with a bunkroom because of the 7 and 9 year old, but the front living room works great. They have their own level when sleeping comes around and a TV. Plenty of room in the front cabinets of the entertainment center for all their stuff. We get our privacy in the back.
