Judy, Vicki was right about Avenue of the Giants and the Giant Redwoods RV Park in Myers Flat. The area is beautiful and the Eel River is great. I would recommend it.

Joy, Judy and I had an extended email conversation about some of the things we found along the coast and US 101 before I saw your post about wanting to get some info also. If you have some time and want to check the 'our rv travels' below, see the 2003 postcards starting about May 23rd for the Monterrey 17-mile drive (fabulous scenery) and Big Sur, then the 2004 postcards starting in early May for the Redwoods and the home of Seabiscuit. We stayed in an rv park on that ranch and walked around and saw the old buildings with the logo on them. At that time they were preparing to do tours. That might be available now.

Great, it's the Avenue of the Giants for us and we'll look into the Giant Redwoods RV Park. We're getting excited about returned to the lower 48 even though we have thoroughly enjoyed Canada and hope to return some day. And we've only seen a small part of it. The people are so nice and so real.

When we were in that area we stayed at Camper Corral in Klamath, CA, then toured from there - Redwood National Forest, Trees of Mystery, and a nice Jet Boat ride on the Klamath River. We were there in September and saw a number of bears from the jet boat. They offer a dinner ride that is very nice.

Bears and a boat ride, that sounds nice, Sunshine. We went all the way to Alaska and only saw bears in Denali, from a distance. Our best bear sightings were in Banff N.P. Guess we'll have to come back to the states to see bears.
