2006 Mountaineer

Went to my local Montana dealer yesterday to get my fantastic fan repaired and walked out after ordering a new 328rls Mountaineer. Today my dealer called and told me that Keystone have discontinued the Chrome wheels on all 2006 Mountaineers. Apparently too many complaints about rust and discolouration of the wheels. Has anyone out there with a Mountaineer, had this type or similar problems.

We have the 05 328RLS and it came with white painted wheels. We upgraded from 15" to the 16" wheels. Felt it was worthwhile. Gives a bit more safety margin.

We have an 05 318BHS and we upgraded to the chrome wheels. I am beginning to see some of the chrome to start coming off the rim near the tire. I probaly will mention to dealer during upcoming warranty items. My goal is to preserve the wheels by putting chrome polish on at least two to three times a year. Also, I think if you put gravel around the wheels during storage to prevent water from splashing off the ground will be beneficial. I also use wheel covers most of the time.

I preferred aluminum wheels but was not available. I think the chrome wheels or alumnium wheels enhances the appearance of the trailer.

Went to the 16" wheels on mine. No problems and feel better about the bigger tires.
You need as much support as you can get. That's all that keeps you off the ground.
