RDS 65gal/tool box found

found a deal, i think. on a slightly use, less then a year old, RDS 65 gal auxiliary tank with built in toolbox for $500.00. Fellow wants to reclaim space in his pick up and i want to extend my fuel mileage. thoughts?

We added a custom built gravity feed 45 gal tank to our unit years ago and now wouldn't be without it. Our custom made, smaller, without tool box cost quite a bit more than that so it seems like a pretty good deal.

The only consideration is if you fill that puppy up you will have added one heck of a lot of extra weight to your F250.

Sounds like OK deal if aluminum.

If you have a bed cover, make sure height is OK.

I have a 60 gal RDS tank. All they do is Alum tanks. I went with the tank only, because my 19" deep bed would not work with a tool box/tank and have a bed cover.

There is a valve on the left side of the tank at the bottom you have to be able to reach. Or plumb in a electric one.

I have a Truxedo soft cover. The rails extend into the bed 3" total and a toolbox/tank combo would be too high and I could not reach the valve.

You will need to buy the RDS filler neck piece, about $70 to connect your new tank to the fill neck.

I love my RDS tank.

I have a 40gal tank made by KSH in Lake Havasu City AZ. Installed with gravity fill was $650.00. I have it removed now waiting on my new F350 that is to be here today. I will have it reinstalled as it is great to have that extra range and being able to shop for fuel.
