First day...
As a teacher I have always had summers off, so it won't really hit home until August, but today I "left the building" for the last time! Since the husband has been done for 5 years, I am looking forward to the travels that finally being retired will allow!! Hitch 'er up and let's go!!

Like bigskyjimmy we retired to "no more clocks" but in our stickhouse. This is one of the best retirement gifts we received:

Oh how well I know that feeling. Did that for 33 years!! I am now working just 2 days per week, 3 weeks per month in a less stressful job to help support my camping habit. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations, you'll love it. We retired last year and still work, but now we volunteer when and where we want and frequently don't know the time or what day it is. Enjoy life, you've earned it and we hope to meet you down the road.

Some said I'd wish to be back at work. Wow!, were they wrong! I do work at CW part time, but am at leisure to work when I like. We love Monty and travels. DW is retired from school and we love the travel. Welcome and hope you've found your dream!

I retired in 2000 as Director of a Child Advocacy Center. I walked out that door and never looked back. Don't know how I ever had time to work. Volunteer teaching linedancing now 3 times a week but can travel when I want to. Just love retirement. Have a great time and "dance like no one is watching".

What???? No substitute teaching?? That's what my wife does for travel money. We have a son and his family at Ramstein AFB in Germany. I don't like overseas travel.. so, she goes by herself. Sub teaching pays the way.
Congrats on your retirement..

Have a great retirement. You will love it. I retired 13 years ago after 30 years of law enforcement and the wife retired 5 days ago after 19 years of driving a school bus. We have been playing with the Big Sky for the last 2 years to learn the ropes. Maybe some day we will cross trails and tell all our stories to each other. Every one we have met in our RV travels the last 2 years have been great. Have been to one Montana Rally at the Jackson Rancheria and feel like I have known everyone for years. Rv folks are the best.

You know, had I known how good retirement is, I would have done it 20 years ago!
Welcome to the retirees club!

Glad to hear of your retirement, it sounds like your plans are going your way. I will be joining you and the rest of the gang on MOC in July...
