Excellent point. The place I normally use just fills and does not purge. This could be the problem my tanks are having. Actually there has been only a handfull of providers who acutally purged and then filled by volume rather than by weight. Perhaps when in colder climates I will need to find one which purges then fills.

Bingo, I am now drawing from both tanks... you are welcome... to test the method. I get Propane, so it must work. It's logical, as it is a selector switch. I think I remember doing this in the past and running out of Propane...

I have the 07 2485SA Monty and I leave the indicator switch on one bottle and turn both on. It draws from one at a time, when that one is empty its automatic and switches over to the other one. Has done this since we moved in full time in May of 07. We have on been in temp as low as zero in NM for a winter, and that was with the chill factor since the winds blow almost 24/7.

When the propne dealer purges the bottle he does so when it is empty only. If it is partially filled there is no need to as the is no way for moisture to enter the tank. If he does a purge on a partially filled tank he is doing so only to sell more propane.
