Mama, wow not many of us around... I am also fourth generation California, my kids are fifth generation. I always enjoyed the earth quakes, but never had any damage (6.5 is largest I remember). The folks who have lost everything I am sure look at it differently. Wasn't in California when 101 freeway collapsed during World Series. I agree, unless something falls on your Monty, it should be fine.

We were in the 2001 6.8 earthquake in Seattle, and Alice was in the 9.2 earthquake in Anchorage. From our experience, we feel the 5th-wheel would be as safe a place as any.

I too was at Candlestick for the 89 quake, with my Dad and two young sons. I was running back to the car, (wouldn't let me in with our hand made signs) when the quake hit. Never knew the quake hit until I heard the car alarms going off and looked up to see the light standards moving.
We rushed into the ball park as we were afraid we were going to miss the 1st pitch! Someone had a portable TV and we saw the bridge collapse. I grabed my youngest son and headed back to the car, my dad in another part of the ball park saw them pickup 2nd base and headed back as well. We were once of the 1st ones out and headed home.

Like others, I'd feel save in the Monte.
