Queen or King bed?

Most dealers order their new models with the king size bed option. Our Mountaineer has the standard queen size bed in it. When we look at the new models it seems like the king bed takes up the whole bedroom. We'd rather have the queen and the extra room around it in the bedroom. Are we the exception?

No, you are not. We have a queen at home and in the Monty. We'd rather have the space around the bed.

We have the King in the Monty and Queen at home and like the room in the King much better. Had the Queen in earlier RVs and don't believe that there is that much more room in the room with the Queen.

We have the king. And while it does take up a lot of room, I really like the larger bed for sleeping. I figure each day I spend no more than a few minutes walking around it, but up to 8 hours sleeping in it.

I say it all depends on who I'm sleeping with!

Dory and I sleep fine in a twin . We ordered the King because we felt it would be a cool option. Now we wish we had gone with the Queen to keep the room to walk around.

An interesting subject, considering we are getting ready to order. The dealer we visited this past weekend mentioned that some units are better with the queen and some are okay with the king. We are going to order the queen in our 365 Big Sky. We have the king at home. Terrie is easier to catch in the trailer.

Yes we noticed the biggest difference in the models with the enclosed bathroom. The king really seems to take up the bedroom in those floorplans. Even in the open plans we like the queen better. It's just a personal preference issue but I wondered if we were the only 'weird' ones. I wish more dealers stocked units with queen beds but since they don't I guess most people prefer the king.

We find that we have all the room we need or want in the Queen. We ordered the queen again for the Big Sky. We have a Select Comfort mattress and it will go with us.

Agree 100%...wish we'd have kept the queen, even though we have a king in the stick house.

We sleep on a king in the sticks/bricks. We had a queen in the previous trailer and always felt cramp especially if the dog climbed in to bed (80# of fur). In the new trailer we have the king. Being what we are use to it just felt right. We just purchased a new king for the house a few weeks before purchasing the 3400RL. So we replaced the factory bed with our old house mattress since it was only just a little over a year old. Being a pillow top it does sit a little higher than we would like but it is very comfortable.

We are not too worried about access to the big closet since there is the smaller closet between the bed & shower. We figure we will only have to get in to the rear closet once or twice a week. We will see once we spend longer than a weekend in the trailer.

We prefer a king at home and in the Monty. I think the dog has something to do with our decision too but I'm a pretty big guy too.

As I recall, the dealer for our 2006 3400RL swapped the Queen out of ours and added a King from another unit. As far as I know the frame is the same for either bed size. Maybe your dealer will accommodate you and let you see both for reference. We needed the King because I'm 6' 3" and over 250 lbs and have a habit of rolling around a bit at night. The DW requested a King in the RV and was happy to give up on a slight amount of walk around room. Maybe you can physically see for yourself which bed is the right one for you if your dealer will cooperate. PS: We did have to add a foam topper to our King sized bed to make it usable and comfortable.
