Maiden Voyage
We have just returned from our first Big Sky adventure. Both the Big Sky and the F-350 behaved wonderfully. We went to the Washington D.C. area to visit kids and grandbabies and then took a couple extra days on the way home to just relax. On the way East we took I-70 mainly, but came back through West Virginia on I64-77. We had hills, city traffic, back roads, highways (some of which were better and larger than the freeways, which came as a surprise to us), tight turns, 8% grades, etc. We had a great time and were so pleasantly surprised to learn how easy and quick it is to set up and or take down the Big Sky. As you may or may not know, we are complete newbies to Fifth Wheels (our previous camping experiences were with a mini van and a pop-up). The only problem we're having is keeping the thumbscrews, that hold the light fixtures on the LR fan, in place, LOL. We seem to find them on the floor constantly and just look for them and replace them, now. If that's the biggest problem we have with the Big Sky, we're hooked. We enjoyed our time with the Big Sky so much we are trying to figure out a way to retire a little earlier than planned so we can use it even more. Thanks for all the great tidbits, information, suggestions, and encouragement we've received on the MOC forum. Verle and Sue C

Wonderful news Verle and Sue!
I learned from the MOC that the factory installs rubber bands around the light fixture globe (around the ridge where the screws rest) to help hold in the screws. I never would have dreamed that would work, but apparantly so as we haven't lost any out of our ceiling fan yet. You might check to see if the rubber band is in place.

Glad you had a great time, and hope you enjoyed your trip through Wild, Wonderful West Virginia. I assume you came east on 64 to Charleston, then north on I-77 towards Parkersburg?? Sandstone Mountain is always a treat to see just how good of a TV a person has. Bet that Ford impressed both of you, huh??

You can also use Plumbers Tape to hold in screws on fixtures, We find that the wall fixtures have problems, ours are glass globes sitting ON the fixture, those screws come lose too. Plumbers Tape does not rot away as rubber bands can. Wanna ask why we know??
Now, go enjoy that new rig some MORE!!

Glad you had a great first trip. We have been that way and you do get to see what your vehicle will do on some of those grades.
Now all you have to do is figure out how to be able to use that Montana more.
