TOTAL newbie from Cali

Hello All,
As the subject says, we are total newbies to RV’s. We bought a Mountaineer 337RET, and as far as I can tell this is the closest thing to a forum that addresses Mountaineers.

In any event, I have a LOT to learn. I’m sure I’ll be asking a lot of questions. The very first one being, our rig has valves in a side compartment to dump the black water tank and the grey water tank. But, there is another valve under the rig with a T handle that is exposed. I’m not clear on what that valve is for. It’s a push-pull just like the black and grey water valves and it’s close to the dump outlet. Can anybody help explain what this third valve does?

Thanks
John

Hi, and welcome to the forum. This is a great place to gain knowledge of your new Mountaineer. Any question you ask will likely generate good solutions. As for your dump valve question, most of the Montanas have 2 grey water tanks that dump seperately. The one underneath would probably be the galley drain. Did you buy the camper new? Because if it's not new, the previous owner could have added a gate valve to the line at termination. That would be right where your sewer hose attaches. I am betting it's the second grey drain. Good luck with your new 5th wheel and hope you enjoy the RV lifestyle.

Welcome to the forum. We are in Jacksonville Cal. currently and heading to Willits on Friday. I believe that is your grey water valve for the kitchen sink. Our rig is a 3790RD it is set up the same way.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn. The galley tank pull push handle is normally in front of the tire or at the rear of the tire. Some have between the tires.

Welcome to the MOC family from Washington St! It should be the gate valve for your galley tank most of them have 2 gray tanks.
