residential Fridge Issues

SO... we have a 2017 Montana with the Samsung fridge.. we had no issues until summer 2020... the freezer worked great, the fridge iced up and stopped cooling... A repair tech said the problem was caused by the factory defrost probe for the drain tube, which he said wasn't long enough to reach into the tube, resulting in an ice blockage. He installed Samsung's "upgrade" kit and the fridge worked fine.... then we hit the road.. turned on the inverter, off we went... arrived 3 hours later to a fridge @58degrees and spoiled food...
Overnight on shore power the fridge worked fine... turned on the inverter and off we went.... for a repeat of the day before...
Have checked all connections, had another tech check the fridge (said it is fine),
works great on shore power, not on the inverter...
batteries show 13+ volts, inverter runs, truck charge line shows average 13.2v....

First I'd plug something else into the inverter to make sure it's got power. If it does it's most likely the transfer switch.

no transfer switch, it is a pass thru style inverter.

Doug,

This should be fairly easy to troubleshoot. Connect your batteries and turn your inverter on, is it working? Is the disconnect switch between your batteries and inverter in the proper position? Check the voltage going into the inverter from your batteries. Are you wired with other plugs connected to your inverter, if so are they working?

If the freezer is working fine and the fridge isn’t, it shouldn’t be the power unless I’m missing something. The only way it might not be the refrigerator is if it isn’t delivering 110-120v and it is sufficient to run the freezer but not the refrigerator. I would check the outlet voltage. JMHO.

Don't these Samsung units have two separate refrigeration systems, one for the freezer and one for the fridge? Could be the fridge side is faulty.
