Question Tire pressure monitor

Do most of you use a tire pressure monitor system? On my last trip before trading in my old 5ver for my montana I had that dreaded flat tire that I didn't notice on a curvy PA interstate. Well it shredded and tore up the wheel well and fender. Now I've never had a TPM before and haven't really considered using one until now, I don't want to tear up my new rig. My question is- I've been looking at the tire minder A1A . Does anyone else use this one, is it any good (seems a little expensive). Are there better ones out There? Where's the best place to get One? Thanks in advance.

I would not be with out one. I use TST unit Its out of Dawsonville, GA. They run about $250.00 with 4 senders. The new ones are better than my older one. Got mine in 2009. New ones recognize the senders without having to put in a code. Phone 770-889-9102. I have no ties with this company just like the product.

I have also had a TST 507 for 6-7 yrs. Paid about the same as Wayne. Don't know how that compares to Tireminder.

Have never had a flat, or even a low tire. But there is peace of mind being able to see the pressures at a glance, or get an alarm if a tire goes low so you can stop before damage occurs. Or limp to the nearest exit and maybe a tire store. Will not prevent a blowout, but will give an alarm so you can pull off instead of wondering what that loud POP was.

I use the TST system also.
Now that you have had a blowout what type of tires do you have? If you have the standard E series ST tires this will not be your last blowout. We call them China Bombs for a reason. You need a set of G rated tires and your tire problems will be over.

Have the TST also and let me know when one of China Bombs started going flat. Blew a small hole in the side wall and was able to get the trailer stopped before any damage was done. Definately worth the money.

I've have the TireMinder for about three years. Mine came with six sensors but I only use four, one on each trailer tire (that leaves me with two spares, just in case). Tow vehicle has it's own TPMS. I like the TireMinder because it's small, easy to use, came with THREE extra battery sets. The receiver is rechargeable so it doesn't have to be wired in all the time. It monitors pressure and temperature inside the tire.
I'm sure most other brands do the same and work well. But having early warning that something is not right back there makes me feel much better.

I went with Camping World Tire Minder for easy access to additional sensors/parts or batteries. It's a simple product (on YouTube) and I can easily remove the sensors for the winter when in storage.

Yeah I just went out to look at the tires and they are the china junk. You know, I swear they were different tires on it when I was looking at it in the lot. I wonder if they pulled a quick switch during the prep and hoped I wouldn't notice, wouldn't be too surprised. (there has been a few issues with the whole delievery - mostly paperwork) Camper World is running a big spring sale and they push the tire minder brand $329 for 4 sensors, control and booster. Looks like its going to be a " must have" for my list to get. Thanks for the replies.

I just got the EEZTPMS for my Montana. Set up was pretty easy. Have not actually pulled the camper with them installed yet. Plan on doing that later this month. Will post on results.

I have had my TPMS for the past 9 years. I got an upgrade because my in-cab unit was stolen a few years ago. It will handle more sensors than I can ever use. I consider it one of those things--" Don't leave home without it!" Yes, it has warned of low pressure in a tire a few times--Great device. And--no warning for blowouts--I know because I have had a few. Recommendation--get some kind of good tire monitor system.

Have had the TST system for a year now with the Sailun tires, little to no worry about tires. System monitors pressure and temperature continuously. Easy setup but have to take them off when storing the rig. Don't have experience with other brands but this one works fine.

TST 507 6 sensors. and before that the pressure pro would not leave home without one they have saved us several times over the years. Why wait till you have 2 or 3 thousands $$ in damage before you purchase a 250/300 $$ item.

I have TST 507. Last fall I was just pulling onto I-10 near El Paso and the alarm went off. I got pulled off in probably 1/2 mile and 30 seconds and the tire had some air left. But in another 1-2 minutes it was on the rims. The tire wasn't damaged and I am sure if I hadn't stopped when I did we would have had trailer damage. It was just a nail and got it patched to make it home. Got new tires because of alignment after that.

I also have the TST 507. It has worked very well. I have read many times about their customer service and that is why I went with them. I had a problem with 1 of the sensors and they mailed me a new one free of charge.

I have the EZZE TPMS, only been operational for a couple short trips but seems to work great. Provides some peace of mind.

Blowout,, sudden and catastrophic failure of the tire...TPMS can not warn of that but it does warn of a loss of PSI that will if not detected lead to a catastrophic failure.

For those of you with the TST 507... is there an advantage/disadvantage to using flow through sensors?

I don't have the flow through ones. Wish I did. The advantage of the flow through is you can inflation your tires without removing the sensors.

Only con I have heard about the flow thru is they are slow taking air if you need to add some. 2 or 3 lbs probably not a big deal. And they are slightly larger and heavier.

I have the non flow thru. I typically add a few lbs of air at the start of each new season and am good for that year as my tires just don't lose much. I have never had a low tire. Removing a sensor to add air is little different than removing a valve cap although you do need the tool if you leave the theft proof cover on.

I have the TST 507 with 10 sensors. Six for the truck and 4 for the Monty. Have used them for two years and wouldn't be without them. BTW all 10 are flow thru and I haven't had to add air in 18 months.
