Much reported about the backflow valve thing behind a wall or under the sink. Mine is under the bathroom sink and somehow was plugged up. I took it apart and remove the little ball in it and now has much pressure. (no backflow prevention from it now tho)

We took ours out years ago and use an external backflow preventer when we flush. No problems since.

Could you share the details on what specific device you use and where you got it? Thanks!

You can get them at most hardware stores. They're the backflow preventers that restaurants, campsites, COE and others use. I put it on the end of a very short piece of hose and put my quick connectors on both ends. Snap it in, snap a water hose on and your good to go.
Here's an example of a preventer: http://www.amazon.com/Homewerks-VAC-...flow+preventer
This is what I have it on: http://www.amazon.com/Gilmour-Inch-F...kink+protector
and then I just attach my quick connects to each end.

The only problem I've seen with the backflow preventer that DQDick showed is that when you turn your water off be ready to get wet. The park we were at for the Mid Atlantic Rally this last summer had them on their hydrants and when you turned the water off you got a good spray coming out those holes next to the connection grooves. You learn real quick about standing back or covering up the connection when you turned the hydrant off. The spray is at just the right height to get your pants wet in jus the wrong spot, if you know what I mean! LOL Dick, did you have that problem?

No I don't experience that, probably because I use a Y when I do this and I shut the water off at the Y and it's open into the tank so when the backflow preventer closes there isn't pressure behind it. You do get a little bit of water, but not like what you have witnessed. It does work that way when you shut off the hose at our store and the hose still has pressure in it.
