flooding here

we are camping in New Mexico and the creek is truly rising
we are not the Escapees park but way further north and in the mts, but the creek has risen ~4-5 ft
we probably won't get stranded as there is a clear shot road to higher ground. moving the montey, nowhere to go
question now
how high does the water have to get to get the 5th moving by itself.
we think mid hubs

Wow, Mikey, get out of there quick!
I would say over the wheels and up to the bottom of the frame, mid-wheels (depending on the current) you should be still OK.

I don't think I would want to find out and agree with Ozz, that it is time to move now. Depending on what happens upstream, flash flooding can occur downstream in matters of minutes, picture a wall of water coming down a confined location. I would hate to think of bearings, brakes, etc. etc. if they were submerged. My rule of thumb is simple, if water gets to the tires, we are out of there.

You did the right thing. Better to move when you want to than when you have to (in a panic). Ya never know the conditions down the road.

We drove from Santa Fe to Taos on Hwy 68 9/12 and the next day was told the highway was closed due to rock slides. New Mexico is getting hit hard but not quite as bad as Colorado. There is a large sink hole caused by rain in median of I40 just west of Albequerque with one lane cosed each direction. Local news said the hole is expanding so check on this if you are going to travel on 40. Don't know the current status of Hwy 68.

that's a tough road to taos, I once punctured my gas tank on a ford Taurus running over a falling rock in the rain
