The furnace runs on 12V so check the fuses in your panel. I presume you have turned on a burner on the stove to confirm you have propane, if not you might want to do that. Don't want to lead you astray on the thermostat as yours may be different than mine, but on mine I must select furn in the mode and of course mine is set by time as well or it won't work.
What ever happened to the simple old thermostats, heat on one end and cold on the other...

Aside from checking the fuse, give it a reset, turn off the 120 breaker to the A/C and pull the 12 volt fuse to the furnace, then plug in the fuse and flip the A/C breaker on, that is a 'hard reset' agree on the going back to the simple thermostat..

When I switch the thermostate on about 15 seconds later I hear a faint click, and when I switch it off I hear the same click right away

That sounds like the thermostat sending the signal to the furnace to light and then to shut off so the thermostat is probably ok. This thread should give you more Ideas: http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...hTerms=furnace
Also, I would check to make sure spiders or other insects haven't built a nest or web that's keeping the gas from getting to the igniter.

The last one I worked on was blower motor. The blower has to come on to get air flow first before the gas turns on. If blower is blowing with no gas maybe it's your sail switch. Sail switch is switch that transfers with air movement.
No air no gas.
