Jalousie/Crank-type window problem

In our 2007 3585 SA, we have one of the jalousie/crank-type windows on the bottom of our big picture window and another on the bottom of the window by the dinette. On one of those windows, the knob that opens and closes the window is so loose that it feels as though it's about to fall off. It takes a lot of turning before it "catches" enough to open the window. Obviously, just tightening the screw in the center of the knob doesn't tighten the knob (been there, done that).

Can someone please tell me how to adjust the knob/screw assembly so that it works properly again?

Carolyn

You may need a new knob. Take the knob off and see if the teeth inside the knob are striped out. If they are ok you may need to replace the little gear box that the knob turns on the window. Hope this helps.

I also think you striped the teeth of the knob when you were turning it when the screw was loose

The teeth are fine, so it's on to the gear box. Ozz, thanks for the number. I'll give Doug a call.
