Bedroom Carpet issue in 3750FL

The carpet in the bedroom has been binding on the bed frame or the wheels under the bed when the slides are retracted. It is now to the point where it is a mangled mess up against the drawers and will not flatten out no matter what. The warranty is still in effect so I took the unit to a local Montana dealer. The service advisor said that he's seen about a half dozen 3750's with this problem and he's not sure that they can do anything about it. This is of course not acceptable. He took pictures of the mess and has sent them to Keystone for "evaluation" and a possible fix. If this advisor has seen that many units with this problem then I'm guessing that the issue must be widespread across the Montana world. Has anyone experienced this problem and if so how was it resolved?

Mustard,

You might want to travel down to the Oregon service center. You'll get much better service at the service centers because they pretty much fix just about everything that is wrong and figure out ways to keep the problem from happening again - they are paid hourly and aren't motivated by profit, just customer service. JMO from having spent a lot of time at the Goshen service center.

Mine started doing the same thing two trips ago. I am thinking next time the rig is home to stand in the bedroom while my bride brings in the slides and see what the carpet is catching on. I am suspecting the carpet on the floor is stretching and pushing up in front of the bed preventing the strip attached to the closet from going underneath the bed as it rolls forward.

Please keep us informed as to what they come with regarding the fix. Those of us with the same unit will definitely want to be in the know. We haven't had a problem, but then we don't use the rig as much as others do.

I haven't had a problem either, but I will surely keep my eye on the carpet. Please keep us informed.

I can't find the post as it was some years back, but someone on the MOC removed the wheels on the bed frame and mounted them on the floor ... roller up as far towards the foot of the bed as they could and still keep it covered when the slide was out. They said it worked well for them.

I just picked up the Montana from the servicing dealer. It's all good news! Keystone suggested that they adjust the bedroom slides by raising one side and lowering the other a bit. As well, they steamed the carpet that was all crumpled against the drawers until the carpet was perfectly flat again. They then glued the carpet to whatever part of the slide is under it. It looks and works great. The dealer also suggested that we fold back any mattress toppers, quilts, comforters, blankets and sheets so that when the mattress hits the drawers the covers don't bind against the drawers and perhaps cause issues. There's not a lot of room between the mattress surface and the facing of the closet when the slides are retracted and the mattress has pushed the drawer assembly into the slide so this is probably good advice. Thanks Fraserway RV in Abbotsford, B.C. I'm a happy MOCer!
