shower quit working

I haven't had any problems with it before, but after my last move, I can't get the shower to work. The plastic piece is still in place in the water outlet and it moves up and down and appears that it should work, but it doesn't shift the water to the shower anymore.
Any advice on how to repair this would be greatly appreciated. ( I'm sure those around me would appreciate it too!)
Thanks,
Don

This may sound silly, but is there a switch for water conservation on the shower head itself (navy shower switch)?? If there is, it may have inadvertently set to off. I know our old rig had this switch, but cannot remember if the new one does or not. On the old white shower head, it was a chrome push-button.

Yes there is a switch, but I tried both positions and prior to this issue, it didn't make any difference which position the switch was in, if you pulled up on the shower knob then water would be directed to the shower head. Does anyone know if the little plastic piece is suppose to move straight up or does it pivot or something to redirect the flow of water?

When you engage the knob on the bath faucet, is the water still flowing into the tub or does it stop?? If it stops, then I would think there is a blockage in the shower line, or the navy switch has failed. Wish I could help more, but after looking on-line at a 2010 3400RL, the bath faucet has been changed from what we had in our 2007 340RL. On our old one, the shower line could be disconnected from the faucet easily (I think it had a plastic sleeve that unscrewed). If you can disconnect the shower hose, you will be able to tell if the shower switch is working or not or if you have a blockage in the shower line by engaging the switch and see if the water is re-routed to the other outlet on the faucet. I would think it has to be one of those two things.

The little knob on the faucet pulls straight up for shower to work.

The water keeps running into the tub even after the knob is pulled up. There seems to be a lot of play in the plastic piece that changes the out put to the shower, but I don't have anything to compare it to.

I believe you will have to change the faucet assembly unless you can take it apart and see how the valve is damaged. It sounds like it came disconnected but I have never operated on one to be able to offer sound faucet medical advice.

I ordered a new one and will pick it up in a couple of days. In the mean time and after yet another move it started working again!! I will still pick up the ordered unit just in case this happens again.
