Water holding tank

3610 rl legacy.. Problem,, gvwr exceeded on ram by 250 lbs, rear axle by 150 lbs. need to lessen pin weight.. Does anyone know where the water tank is located? If it's in the back, I was thinking about adding water to reduce pin weight...

Adding water seems counter productive. Can you add a leaf or two in the springs. Air shocks may help. Is your truck suspension bottomed out or hitting it on the bumps? I have extra leaves in my rear springs. Yes we both need bigger Trucks but $$$$ are tight until I find a good used tonner Diesel.

On most rigs the water tank is in the back. We travel with ours about 1/3 full, mostly for balance and because we might want to use the bathroom.

You didn't say what size truck you have. Maybe just not enough truck?

Unless you are planning on continually adding more cargo ... despite the weight police response ... I'd not worry about a couple of hundred pounds. Adding water to lessen pin weight will only add to the overall weight.

If concerned about rear drop because of pin weight, you might consider air bags. Will stop the drop.

If you are overloading your axle as you stated, chances are you are also exceeding your tire rating. If that being the case, I would advise against additional leafs or air bags that have been suggested as it does not address the problem, only adds to it.

You don't have a problem. 250 lbs and 150 lbs is hardly worth mentioning. Different scales would likely change that much. Enjoy your new rig and forget the weights you're close enough.
