It's that time of year!

It's that time of year when once you get set up you need to locate a storm shelter near or in the park. This was on tonights news: http://www.wlox.com/story/25246565/p...tier?hpt=hp_t2

Dick, I was shocked the photo showing trailer not split open. Would have expected fiberglass everywhere!

Last year a similar thing happened at Elephant Butte stat park in New Mexico with similar results and last summer they had to rescue an older couple from a state park near our home base when it flipped them on their door side. Straight line winds tend to leave more together than a tornado.

We are reviewing our emergency storm plans now that we are back outside Washington Illinois. We may ride the next one out here in the park inside a block building. We only had about 7 - 10 minute warning last year and ended up driving toward the big one trying to get to a basement.

I guess they really are "tornado magnets"

We will be leaving Vegas around May 1, and heading east. We will make stops in Phoenix and Clovis then running the gauntlet through OK and KS to KC. mid May is ground zero out there we are told so we will make the run as fast as we can..

Whether setting still or, rolling down the highway, they really are ugly when the dirty side is up! Thus, my phase when saying good bye to someone, "Be careful and keep the dirty side down. We'll see ya' soon".

We're currently in Albuquerque and plan on arriving at the home base the first week in May. If your going across KS on highway 56, and we're home, we can offer you a free site complete with concrete storm shelter

They are bill boards and they are not attached to the ground. I would rather take our chance in a ditch than the 5th wheel.
