Air Bed Leak

Our sofa bed has an inflatable mattress that doesn't hold air. We have tested it for leaks including submerging it in our swimming pool. We found and patched two small pinholes which no longer leak and the mattress still won't hold air. I am suspect of the area where the built in inflation pump is sealed into the mattress or the fill pump itself. It's out of warranty and I have contacted the mattress direct and they inform me that they do not have any repair service available or any suggestions on repair/replacement of the fill pump unit.

Anyone else had this problem and solved it?

Thanks, Warren

You might look into a blow up mattress from Target if you can't fix yours. I bought one for about $20 and a pump about the same or less to us in the s&b when grandchildren were here. It has always been a good one and very comfortable. Folds up quite small. Just a suggestion.

Instabed sells a queen that will fit our couches for $99. They have never-flat pumps that will add air back if it goes down any automatically. The pump is whisper quiet and will not wake sleepers. I bought one online. Works great.

Cabela's is also a good place to get one.

I think ours was leaking at the valve also. I got ours replaced but under warranty. For a time till we got it replaced we just used the wally world special. Its a lot thinner than the one keystone uses and the grandkids have walked on it jumped and it still holds air. We will use it till it blows out then we will go back to the replaced bed.

You will find it is a common problem and ours did not last either, because no matter how careful I would fold it up, it would get pinched by the sofa frame. We replaced with a good quality air mattress from Sports Authority, and we store in the drawer under the sofa.
