Ford OEM Camera and TPMS phase 1 and 2 of 4
I have started my Ford OEM Camera and TPMS install.
Phase 1 install connector on truck. Very straight forward 20 minutes start to finish.
Phase 2 route Camera/TPMS cable from king pin to front compartment. !.5 hours
Long story short:
Remove screws between King pin and front hatch (about 8 in all including the 2 latch screws)
Fish wire from king pin to front hatch.
Route cable to propane tank compartment.
Long version with Pix
First screws are removed.
Then flat bar is inserted and rotated so it stands on end.
Then since I do not have a fish tape I used/abused a tape measure(do not pay attention to measurement on tape it is is only about 4 feet for the run)
where you see 103 on the tape is looking back at camper from kingpin.
I ran the tape from the king pin to compartment
Then taped dog's leash (about 8 foot long) to tape measure and pulled lease from front compartment to kingpin. yes I sometimes make do with what I have.
The harness splits into a "Y". Taped shorter camera end to longer TPMS cable making sure rough edges that may snag are smoothed out.
Tape TPMS connector to fish tape AKA dogs leash. Again making making edges smooth so it does not snag.
Pull cable through from King pin to front compartment. It was easier than expected.
Pictures showing pulled cable.
Routed cable through same hole as cable for right front leveler.
Routed cable down front side of leveler, away from propane tank. To protect cable when removing propane tank.
Not shown -- made sure the 7 pin camper connector and 12 Camera.TPMS connecter are same length. Taped 2 cables together vs tie wraps to minimize snagging.
Phase 3 will be routing cable from front of camper to back.
Phase 4 will be installing camera.
Feel free to ask questions. Note answers may degrade as time passes.
