Fridge Fell Out

The residential double door fridge in our 2022 Montana High Country 41ft fifth wheel broke loose from its brackets and toppled onto our gas range while we were traveling. Both brackets (1/4 inch Steel) snapped. Left door badly dented. It appears the brackets should have been more substantial. Called Good Sam and ended up paying over $400 to have the brackets welded, but the tech ended up snapping off a bracket bolt and left us with a Vice Grip holding bracket together and the wall next to fridge covered with greasy handprints. Not a happy camper!
We contacted Camping World about warranty repairs, but we have to wait weeks to begin process and travel 150 miles to nearest dealership. We live In Northeast PA and problem happened in Delaware. Tried calling dealership who sold it to us in Jan of this year, Gandor RV in St Augustine, FL, but they are now out of business. Anyone have suggestions about how to unravel this mess and proceed? Good news is fridge is still working.

The downside of purchasing from a remote dealership. Have you contacted the factory? You're a 8 hour drive straight shot to Indiana from PA. Just sayin...

Best I can suggest is you plead your case with KS, but in the meantime figure out a way to brace the fridge whilst traveling, and/or find someone who's a skilled welder/fabricator that can do a proper repair. When my Samsung fridge was failing and I thought it would need replacing, I thoroughly checked out the mounting bracket; it's nothing special, and mine is probably 1/8' to 3/16" at the most, making it possible to form by bending in a vise with a bit of heat.

St. Aug Gander

St. Augustine Gander is not out of business. They have changed names to Camping World. I was just there yesterday. However, they are very short handed and we have found them to be extremely slow on repairs.

Not a happy camper? I suspect upon opening the door and seeing the fridge flopped over, then most likely this old sailor would have let loose a blue streak not fit for any nearby young ears...
