Aluminum rim spoke crack

John Goff (Johnnyg) noticed the crack on this rim. I may have had it for a while thinking it was a scratch not full crack.
Tredit is honoring the warranty and replacement is coming.

This is a TR6 rim and they have discontinued them.

here is the replacement rims (four of them), also had them balanced.

They were very responsive when we found a crack in one of ours. Sent a new one right out.

My early year 2010 came with those type wheels. The later 2010s came with the new ones.

Tredit was good enough to send me FOUR new Rims when one of my 05 Star Pattern Rims developed a crack along the rim.
Thanks Tredit!

The easiest way to answer the question is to just call Tredit wheel in Elkhart and ask. My 08 has the single spoke wheels model T02-66867T

When two wheels cracked on my 2003 I had to replace them at my cost, they said that I changed them and they were not the wheels that came with the trailer. The trailer was still under warranty.

Our 2010 (delivered 30 Nov 2010) came with the "new" rims (and Chinese Marathons).

Phil,
Yes model number T0266867T SN:702324 ID: 2415800 from TREDIT TIRE in Elkhart.
Rated at 110 psi and 3750 lbs
I asked that before they were shipped.
And for $6.00 more a tire I had them balanced.

John, where are you hearing the TR6 has been replaced? When we blew a tire in early April and damaged a rim, a brand new one was ordered by CW from Keystone. We received it in early May. It was a TR6.

In January we cracked a rim that looked just about like the one you show in the picture. But ours was discovered immediately after a tire blew out and I was pretty sure the blowout caused the crack. I'm not positive about that now, though.

Steve,
The Warranty Lady at TREDIT Tire in Elkhart told me the TR6 was discontinued.
She told me the TR6 was re-rated to 110psi and 3750 lbs but this T2 has it stamped on the spoke.

For those of you that had cracked rims, do you know how many miles (approx) were on them when they cracked? Like "CamillaMichael", our 2010 came with those rims too. We have close to 12K on the rig now. I guess I have another item to keep an eye on.
Jack

Jack (jackel1959),
Sorry I did not see this question before. I had 25000 miles on the rims when I noticed the crack.

I asked Tim with Tredit what the failure rate was on the spokes, he said extremely low, and I think the T02 is the replacement. The TR6 molds were disposed of, that is why they can't re-test the wheels.
I asked if over-inflation cracks the spokes, he said no. I asked if a wheel would fly apart with the higher pressures. He said no, they would leak, and maybe crack, if a failure occurred.

H. John Kohl,
No porblem....as you may have seen in a different post of mine, we had a crack develop in one of our TR6 wheels at about 15.5K miles. We were lucky I guess because although Tredit would not replace all 4 of them (they only agreed to replace one with a T02 and then we would have to pay for the other 3) Keystone replaced all 4 and we just had to pay to have the tires mounted and balanced.
