March, 2009 Get Together

I have set us up at Riverside on Thursday, March 19th at 2:00 PM. Please let me know by noon Tuesday the 17th so I can give them a real count. The special is Pulled Pork and Sweet Potato Fries
$7.99. They advise that if you want to order the special we should let them know ahead so they're sure to have some for us as they only make so much and may run out. Also if you might order the Pork Tenderloin sandwich as they may run out of that.

If you are interested in taking the 1 hr river cruise at 1:00 also let me know and I'll make reservations. Cost is $7.50. Carla and I have taken it twice and find it interesting.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I am with you Larry and LaVonne, hopefully more will show up. I have noticed here in Oleander Acres a fair number have pulled out and others I have spoken to in other parks also report many leaving for other warm spots.
We are traveling back to WI for granddaughter's B-Day. Grandmas all understand this. We will be leaving Wausau about 8:30 on Tuesday the 17th. Good Sam tells me it will take 30 hours to Riverside, but I am going to do all I can to make it along with Carla.
Let's see two 12 hour days and lots and lots of caffine should do it. The kicker could be a midwest snow storm which is a tradition in WI for St. Patrick's Day.

We are getting things in order to head to WI tomorrow, but not enjoying the weather predictions for our route. If I see any tornadoes I'll get a picture just before I dive into the ditch. I am going to do everything possible to be back by 2 on the 20th.
So far attending are:
Micky & Mary
LaVonne & Larry
Gibby & Betty, boat Ride
Ken & Doris, boat Ride
Dave & Carla if weather cooperates on the trip back.

I will reserve the seats on the 1:00 boat ride in the name of the Montana Owners Club.

You are right Cruzin2. Another Senior Moment. Luckily we did set the clock ahead for daylight savings gtime about 3 pm so got to church on time on Sunday. Let's see 12 hrs on the 17th, then 12 hrs on the 18th, and 6 hrs on the 19th we arrive at Riverside. Life is great. Can anyone say caffine.

Thanks for the info Larry, we have been there just forgot the name. Dave, Linda and I plan on attending. Does that river cruise come with armed Bordor Patrol?

Bill it does not come with any type of armed border guard. You won't need it. The news always has to build up everything. True the drug wars in Mexico are causing problems, but they are not causing problems in the US or to tourism in Mexico. Every piece of advise I have recieved or given I would give to anyone traveling in any big city in the US. If you are fortunate you will see a Mexican water taxi on the trip. If you don't see one ask us at the get together what a Mexican Water Taxi is.

We are in Wausau, WI and the weather is great. 61 right now and the forecast is excellant for the drive back to the RGV starting tomorrow. I just got off the phone with Riverside. Unfortunately, the boat cruise is full at 1 and if they set up another one it will be at 2 so that aspect is out at this time. Sorry, Gibby, Betty, Ken, and Doris. Projected attendees that I have made reservations for at 2:
Mickey & Mary with 2 guest, 2 pork tenderloins
Lavonne & Larry
Gibby & Betty 2 pulled pork
Ken & Doris
Bill & Linda
Dave & Carla God willing, the roads are clear, and the idiot drivers are at home or work.

Looking forward to Thursday.

It was nice to see everyone again. You all have a fun and safe summer so you next winter. I have to remember that Riverside is just too loud for conversation. I crashed about 7PM and now Carla wants to drive to Don West to the Farmers Market today. I wonder if the butt can take it. In case you're interested about our drive to Wausau, WI for granddaughter's B-Day schedule:
March 10-14: Mission-Norman, OK-Spingfield, IL-Elk Grove Village, IL- Wausau, WI 1782 miles.
March 17-19: Wausau, Springfield, MO- San Antonio, TX- Mission. 1659 miles.

Grandma says we won't do it next year. Probably not as we plan to be in CA in March.
