Yellowstone
We are camping at Henrys Lake just about 18 miles south of West Yellowstone entrance. Power (30/50Amp) and water with a dump site. Price is good and great fishing on the lake. In fact most of the people here are here for fishing. It's 3 miles off the road so nice and quiet with large open spaces. Few if any trees but not needed now as it has been in the high 70s.
Will be traveling the south loop in the morning (Friday 6/27) and then will have to move to Grizzly camp ground near Island Park for a few days.
If in the area give us a shout and say hello.
Dick & Jackie

We completed our visit to YNP a week ago. It was really nice. I think you will enjoy both the North and South loops. Be sure to take in Lamar Valley when you do the North loop. That is where we saw most of the animals. From about 5 PM to sundown is the best time or early in the morning. Have fun.

Dick and Jackie, we stayed at Island Park RV and Laundry, right on the highway, in fact, we were on the front row. I think Grizzly is in West Yellowstone, they wanted $58.00 a night. We paid $20 at Island Park (Passport America). Didn't mind the drive. We went down to Jackson Hole and up the East side of Grand Tetons and into the South entrance to YNP, Did both the loops and visited everwhere to see. Got a little tired of the Bison in the road though. The Grizzly/Wolf discovery area in West Yellowstone was very informative and had HUGE bears......We then left thru the East Etrance on our way East.....

If you want to get a bit closer to the West Yellowstone entrance try Rainbow (a Forest Service site) off Lake Huron. It is only 5 or 6 miles from West Yellowstone, on Huron Lake, headwaters to the Madison River. Great fishing. John

Thanks for the reply Phil. Henrys lake state park is just a little South of where you camped and Buffalo (Not Grizzly, what was I thinking?) is another 10 miles or so further South (26 miles from West YNP). This is a Federal park and only has electrical at the site.
We did the South loop yesterday and took our time, about 180 miles in about 15 hours.
Thanks again and happy camping,
Dick & Jackie

We just spent a week at Lionshead (buy five, get seven nights) and to be honest, next time we will stay at Fishing Bridge. The seven mile drive to the West entrance and then 14 miles to the Madison Junction got to be real boring day after day. Fishing Bridge is crowded, expensive and ugly, but it is close and convenient to what we really want to see.

We have reservations at Fishing Bridge starting August 30 for 7 nights. Really looking forward to it - but lot's to see between here (Dease Lake, BC) and there!
