Valley of the Rogue SP OR

We ran away for the weekend to the state park only about 20 miles from our home. We needed a rest as we have been making decisions and many moves/hospital stays for my mother who has Alzheimer's. We saw 3 Montanas but because of the wet weather we did not see anyone outside to talk to. One had Missouri plates and we did not see the plates on the others.

At least you got away for the weekend. I had to stay home and get some work caught up. The Valley of the Rouge is a real nice park. Some friends use it as an overnight stop coming up from Redding to the Oregon Coast. Haven't had a chance to use the Monty since end of July. Keep thinking about winterizing but hope to get out at least one more time this fall. Temps were down to 29* here this Sunday. If we don't get to see you before, we are set for the Mt Shasta campout May 26-29 and will finally get to meet you.

Yes we saw that you signed up. You have such a long drive!
It was a cold weekend but we needed the rest and the rain and cool weather kept us reading and sleeping. We actually like the "winter" camping. We do not winterize, just leave the heat on low, so we can take off for a quiet weekend whenever we need it. We actually did not come home until early this morning. I noted snow on the roads on 97 in Chiloquin (via ODOT cam). Not much, but still it was white!

If you need a place to lay over on your way to Lake Siskiyou we are only 19 miles out of Yreka. On second thought its only 30 miles to Lake Siskyou from Yreka. Probably wouldn't make much sense for you to stop here.

Jacksonville must be warmer than Fort Jones. But this is the first winter with the Montana and the arctic package with a little care might just be safe. I will have to give it some thought.
