For some unknown reason my signature has a picture, or should I say had a picture and it is now replaced with tiny pic is either moved or deleted? Have no idea what happened here.

Sure there is someone out there that can tell me what happened. MOC has really been acting wierd lately.

I saw it, then I posted that I could see it and then after making the posting, it disappeared. Something must be going on with their web site.

Your picture is no longer accessible at TinyPic. You can wait and see if it comes back or upload another one. Best of luck.

Sometime there is simply a link that does not work. For some reason the picture site must have been down or the link somewhere along the line was not working. Now it obviously is! And the MOC website has been acting strangely from time to time. We have a note to ForumCo so hopefully we'll find out something soon.
Thanks.

When you add a picture to your signature, you don't actually add the picture, you add a link to the picture. The picture itself is on another website (for instance, I use Photobucket), so when you or anyone else looks at a post you made, the Montana site actually goes to the website where the picture is stored and downloads it into your post. This happens everytime someone looks at your post. As others pointed out, if the website where your picture is stored at is having problems, it will effect the picture in your signature. That's why you will occasionally see picture not available messages or a red X in someones post.

As a point of interest, if you right mouse click on someone's picture, a menu will appear. Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu and it will display where the picture is hosted at.

? For RV Wheels… has there been any change in the policies about the size of the photos for posting them? I would like to see the forum establish less restriction on the picture size as far as how many bytes are allowed.

Thanks!

Bill-N-Donna,
There has been no change in our picture policy. I will discuss your suggestion with the other Admins. But I doubt we will make any changes. There are still many folks who use slow to slower connections. Larger picture sizes would cause even slower connections.

After consideration I'll get back to you.

Thank you.

That's the reason I quit using tinypic. They sometimes just decide to delete pictures. I don't know whether they purge when their servers get full or use some other criteria. So I switched to photobucket. You have to register but it's free and they don't delete your pictures, unless they're pornographic or something like that. I'm sure there are other good picture repositories online but I've had very good luck with photobucket.com for a couple of years or so.
