Battery and inverter

Could y’all please tell me in what position the battery disconnect in the convenience panel and up front by the battery are suppose to be in both while traveling down the road and also while plugged in. And also the same for the inverter button?
We just got it back from the shop....leak in the roof....not fixed yet! But I went out to let the slides out and they barely made it!! Usually the kitchen slide will stop on me once and I’ll move to the other slides but this took me several tries on each slide. Checked the control panel inside and it showed the battery was empty. I’m thinking we just don’t understand in which position these things should be. 🤷🏼*♀️

With that being said if your unit was at the dealers for any length of time and they didn't plug it in I suspect your battery went flat. There are several thing that run all the time CO2 detectors ect. If your battery wasn't up to full charge that would cause the problems you described

Thank you very much! Now I don’t mean to be stupid but in the picture of the convenience panel is that battery disconnect in the on or off position? The battery in front shows green and says on but the other confuses me. And no I’m not a true blonde!! ��

The labeling of the disconnect switch in the convenience center is confusing at best. The batteries are disconnected if you can remove the red key. If you can't remove it, then the batteries are connected. This should be the normal state.

If you have a residential fridge, then you would normally have the inverter powered on so that it's display would tell you what you are drawing from battery and what power fridge is taking. The battery cutoff in the front compartment should be to allow 12vdc to the inverter and on when traveling if you are using the fridge on a trip.

Yes it is a residential fridge. Thank you for replying. You buy a camper and they do a walk through but it’s still all a little confusing. And my word what they call manuals are worthless!

A quick question: Why would you have the inverter on while plugged into shore power?

Ease of use is the reason you would leave the inverter on while connected to shore power. The inverter senses 120V and, if present, passes it through without drawing from the 12V battery. When you disconnect from shore power the inverter automatically switches over to 12V battery power.

If you turn it off when on shore power, you have to remember to turn it back on when you disconnect.

We didn’t but we would hear it come on and off. That is why I wanted to be clear on how things were suppose to be. We’ve had some unusual things happen and I’m never sure if it’s the camper or we just don’t know what we’re doing. As I said, the manuals are useless! Thanks again for replying!
