Eating healthy

Joyce says we have to start eating healthier and this time I'm all for it. Went to the produce market yesterday. After we bought the healthy stuff we ate at the Farmer's Market Restaurant. They had buffet so I had two kinds of sausage, country fries with sausage gravy, eggs, catfish, and biscuits and gravy. Since I did that twice I missed the breaded pork chops, pancakes with blueberries and strawberries and real whipped cream, french toast, grits with or without cheese, hashbrown casserole and several other things. Looking forward to eating healthy again next week

Wished I could have joined you on that one, but I noted a lack of bacon in your diet. Guess you made up for it with sausage. John

Sorry, there was plenty of bacon, both kinds of sausage were just too good. IMHO good bacon is easier to come by than really good sausage and to have both kinds good was too much for me.

The only way to truly eat healthy is to spit out whatever tastes good.

Although we've never met (yet), You are truly my kind of man! Keep enjoying the good life. "Yesterday is history.Tomorrow is but a promisory note. We have only today. Make the best of it".

Great point! Just in the last several years (with having to add aftermarket parts to my body) have I discovered that that free college education was actually a deferred payment plan

Had a wake up call a number of years ago when I took my then 90 yr old mother, who had only recently quit driving, and 70 yr old sister, who smokes like a freight train, to a casino for a couple days. I take blood pressure and cholestrol medicines, quit smoking over 40 yrs ago, and try to eat healthy. My mother and sister both healthy as can be. After watching them at the casino buffet getting the fattest, greasiest food possible and then basically emptying the salt shaker on it, and then loading up at the dessert bar, I began to wonder "what is wrong with this picture?" Then I realized that is how they have eaten all their lives. I still try to practice good eating habits, but am more likely to slip than I used to be.

I am a meat & potato guy....but my biggest weakness is Blue Bell ice cream.. Almost killed me when they quit producing for a few months.

Daughters coming to town tomorrow. She ranches in North Georgia so we'll be going there again. It's a farmer and rancher kind of place.
