This is it

Well, we come to Columbus Day once again. Here in the northeast, a good number of campgrounds shut it down after this weekend. This is our last trip out as well. We'll be heading up to central NH on Friday morning for 3 nights. When we get home, the long process of cleaning and winterizing will begin. Then the cover will go on. I do have an extra step this year. For the first time in my rv'ing life, we had mouse infestation last winter. Anyone else planning their last trips this weekend?

As long as I am not encumbered with one of those J-O-B things, there's no such thing as a "last trip."

Our last trip of the year is always Thanksgiving week (Myrtle Beach this year if it has not washed away). Yes, it does involve a re-winterization.

We're headed to Skiatook Lake in Oklahoma ... most campgrounds around my area shut the water and electric off Oct 15th. We'll still do the Branson Christmas sometime in December with round two of winterizing.

Yeah the J-O-B does kinda get in the way of extended trips. Just 5 more years, get my daughter out of college, and that's it. Of course, she has to get out of high school first.

Our last trip of the winter was the Fall rally in Goshen. We will store the Montana in Florida near Disneyworld and stay with it till April.

Still trying to finish the current one. Should be back home tomorrow though. May be taking another five day one later on - but then we live in VA, and it doesn't get below freezing much until December.

I feel spoiled living in east Texas, this is the time of the year where you can get out without extreme heat. Never had to winterize, but in the summer have at least 1,0000 miles to get somewhere where it's not boiling hot!

I live in Southern California. There is no such thing as putting the rig away unless you want to. Allows us to fulltime. That doesn't mean it doesn't get cold (sometimes winter temps linger around 15 to 20) but snow doesn't normally happen and things haven't broken from a freeze.

I can't imagine not being able to RV in the winter, but I do know others living elsewhere might have to stop to winterize.

This week-end is Thanksgiving in Canada so we will be seeing family for the good old turkey dinner, also celebrating youngest grandsons 3rd birthday. Then on the 14the we start to make our way South to Yuma, Arizona for a winter of dry camping in the desert sunshine. Have a good week-end everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadian Montana owners

Since we live in San Antonio--a winter spot for some RVers--we are still on our annual long trip--so far about 8000 miles. We will be home in a few weeks but it is still hitting 90 degrees! Back to golf in shorts and nice bike rides. Winterizing???? Never done that.
