2014 Chevy 2500HD Height

I have been towing my 2006 3400RL with a 2008 2500HD. I have just purchased a 2014 2500HD and am concerned about towing heights. I am using a Superglide 4400 that was in the old 2500HD.

If I have done my measurements correctly I should have about 6" of clearance between the truck rails and the 3400. I am concerned that the new 2500HD rides higher that the old one and it is going to give me a nose high setup. Does the 2011-2014 2500HD sit higher than the previous model? Does anyone have experience with this configuration?

As you can see, we are towing our 3402 with our 2012 2500HD 4WD Z71, and are using the 18K ISR 2900 Superglide. The hitch plate is below the bed rails, but not so far that we don't have at least 6 inches of clearance. Yes, wish the bed wasn't as deep as the older models, but it works for us. We are a bit high on the trailer in front, but not too much.

I went from a 2006 to a 2012 Silverado with a Superglide. The rail clearance was down to about 4-5 inches, I think. So I had to get the optional Superglide rails that raise it about 4 inches. I may have been able to raise (lower?) the hitch plate bolts, but I couldn't get to them and wasn't sure it would work so bought the Superglide rails. The new Silverado also sits about 1 1/2 inches higher so I DO ride slightly uphill. However I haven't had any problem to speak of. Although, I have had a bit more 'bucking' that before which may be rom the uphill slope of the Monty.
