truck tire replacement recommendations

I am going to replace the tires on our truck, prior to our summer travels. Any recommendations? I was looking at the Michelin ltx.
We have 2010 dodge single wheel 3500 4x4.

Just ordered 275/60r/20 Michelin LTX MS2 tires for mine this week. Very expensive, but peace of mind outweighs the cost. Sams club out the door price beat everyone else by $150.

We've had two sets of Firestone Transforce. No problems.

I suspect you probably would want a load range E tire. I replaced my factory tires last year with BFG Rugged Terrain T/A LT275/70R18. With road hazard, 50,000 warranty, free rotation/balance, and all that stuff I think they were around $225 each. I have over 10,000 miles on them (over 3,000 towing) and they are doing good. Having them rotated/balanced today for the first time. I run 80 lbs in the rear and 72 plus in the front.

I'm using the Firestone Transforce HT's. I like and recommend them, but there are a lot of nice options in the LT market.

I am on my 3rd set of Michelin LTX AT2. (2 different trucks). Great long-life wear on all sets. They aren't cheap, but worth the cost for piece of mind. For the price of the truck and 5ver, I don't feel that saving a few hundred dollars is worth putting cheap tires on. Others are probably just as good. You'll have to decide.

Hmmm, I think I just answered my own question. Ordering my G614's today.

Another Transforce HT owner. They wander a tad bit more than my GYs did but are wearing better and seem to have a firmer sidewall. Happy so far.

Have the same truck you do and similar trailer. Just replaced my factory BF Goodrich Rugged Trail TA with the same tires (BF Goodrich Rugged Trail TA). I have the Michelins on my car and 5th wheel. They are a great tire, but seem to be rated at about 150 lbs less capacity per tire than the BF Goodrich. With SRW my weights are already at capacity. Looked hard for a Michelin with 3175 lbs capacity, but no luck.

Had Firestone Transforce on my new 2013 Ram. At 20,000 miles, they weren't capable of making the trip to Alaska because of wear. Replaced with Michelins. Had Transforce before and liked them. Maybe they use a different formulation on new trucks, but I have had really good luck with Michelins, they are quieter and grip better in the mountains.

I'm on my 3rd set of Coopers. Had two of their all-terrains, and one set of highway tires now. I usually get 45-55k loaded miles out of them. I get them locally installed for about $170/piece. 18 tires so far without any defects, but I wear through them before they have a chance to dry rot.

Michelin. 60,000 plus miles. Need replacing but no problems. Have worn well. Great in snow.

I have Michelin LTX A/T2 tires that came with our GMC truck from the factory. I found that once the tire tread is down to 50% or less the traction on snow and ice is fairly poor. They are great tires when travelling down the highway, but poor tires when driving on packed snow or ice. I checked reviews on the internet and noticed many drivers that live in a significant snow zone have the same complaint. To get traction on packed snow and ice I've had to always put the truck in 4x4 to get going. They are a satisfactory tire during summer. When it's time for tire replacement I will not buy Michelin.

I have always gone to Michelin after the tires from the factory needed replaced. Have always had good performance and wear with them. The new Denali came with the Michelin already mounted. Be watching them for wear. Hope to have 'em until about 65000 miles.

I have run Michelins for years, but I'm thinking of another brand when the time comes. Great tires, wear well, but lousy traction in snow.

Just put TransForce AT's on Vinnie. First towing trip on them this weekend. I'll pass complete judgment after the trip. I wore out a set of Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors. I loved the tires and the wear but got a good deal on the Firestones I couldn't pass up. We'll see.

Just ordered a set of Michelin M/S2 to be installed on the 27th. I had Toyo's on and they were good tires but I only got about 49000 miles. I do keep a check on them and air them up at least once a month.
