Senior discounts
Not that I'm eligible for any senior discounts, here's a link to 108 stores that offer discounts to seniors.

We have found that at most Wendy's you have to ask for the discount....

Got my first senior discount at the ripe age of 43! I stopped in a chicken joint just north of Houston when I was 45; the dude says, "would that be a senior plate"? Well, I'm all for discounts, but geez, I look up at the wall menu, and it says 62 and over for seniors. Wonder if I might have aged prematurely?

I love the Senior Discounts. However, 2 years ago when I was 63 (having been told by many people that I don't look that age), and sporting a new hairdoo, I went into DQ and ordered a sundae. I was charged less than the price listed and when I inquired was told "I gave you the senior discount." Since I didn't ask for it, I was taken back a little. How does such a young looking chick get offered a senior discount? I was depressed the rest of the day. But, I'm over it now, bring on the discounts!!!

Unfortunately, to the teenage age clerks, anyone over 40 looks like a senior citizen. But I do enjoy my senior discounts anyway.

They look at me and want to give me a double senior discount.
Some grocery stores have free coffee for seniors.
I like to eat lunch at SAM's club. Just keep walking by those free sample handouts until I'm full.

Great list.... I didn't realize I have been eligible for some of these already. DW just turned double nickels yesterday so now we are both the same age and eligible.
Thanks for that!

And for those who are Retired Military or on Active duty make sure you always ask for Military Discount. And you don't have to be a old guy like myself. For example Lowes gives 10% for Military... I tend to use those who give discounts. And always thank them for supporting those who are keeping America Free. Happy Trails...

Speaking of which, my cousin is retired Air Force and he told me that Home Depot will even let you get the military discount on web site purchases. You have to telephone the order in to get it. Lowes will not do that.

I forgot, what is senior discount age? Will they know when I get to the register or do I have to show ID?

Trust me Dennis. Looking at your picture, you'll pass. (hee hee!)
Some places it's 55, and others it is different. Just ask for the discount. If they check and find you are to young, be happy, eventually you'll get to that higher ranking.
Edited: Make sure it is you that asks. That pretty young lady by your side will have to show an ID.

When I was younger I would tell the waitress in joking, that they could not discriminate against me because I was young, and sometimes they would give me the senior discount. Now it is not a problem.

Thanks Wayne! I truly am senior. The picture doesn't lie but when I found out the discount may have started around 50 or 55 in some places, I always asked. Oh, and they don't ask for my ID either. Life is Good!
