Well the local forcast is calling for 3 feet of snow here starting tonight! This should be interesting.

Good luck Billy Ray. It started here in Indiana last night and has been interesting all day. Didn't get as much snow as they predicted (12-15") but the 30 mph winds have more than made up for it. Went and "rescued" the daughter and grandkids in the 4x4 this afternoon, just plan on sitting it out the rest of the night.

That's why I retired from Omaha to Arizona. Actually, I just tied a snow shovel on the side of my Monty. And when I got here someone asked what it was. That's when I knew "this is the place".

PS Check out our temp for today.

Rich, I can see your smirk, er, uh, smile, all the way to here (Virginia). We have freezing rain which started earlier this afternoon. I'm sure the roads will be just lovely for those poor commuters to Wash DC tomorrow morning! Boy, am I glad I took this week off!

So Billy Ray, how long have you lived in "Here"? Is this typical weather for "Here" or does "Here" rarely get snow? I don't know if I've ever been to "Here", maybe I can go "There" someday...LOL (Just kidding...)

Well as of this writing we in Hendricks County just west of Indy is under snow emergency orders- meaning official vehicels and personnel only on the roads. So I am tucked in for the evening. Who knows what tomorrow holds. Looks like I have about a 3 foot drift in my driveway in front of the house to work through. Monty has snow almost up to the bottom. I can barely see the wheels. So I am sitting here dreaming of April when we will head for Florida on vacation.

We are getting the nasty 30 mph winds and the snow is just swirling! My husband made it to work this morning and has to stay till 8:00 p.m. b/c others could not make it in. I am just praying that the roads will not be even worse by 8:00 p.m. I will feel 100% better when he walks in the door. Stay safe everyone.

It's never slowed us down before, and it won't tomorrow. This is the main reason I bought the 4x4, well maybe the 2nd reason...LOL. I have to work in the firehouse tomorrow, so I expect to be really busy for my 24hrs.It seems as though no one else will stay home either.I'm sure if we get as much as they're calling for they will call a state of emergency and close all roads to non-emergency traffic (not that it will stop anyone)

Bet you never hear about FEMA buying snowblowers this week for everyone effected....LOL. Sold mine last summer and do not miss it bit. Cold here but everyone said it is good because it will kill off some of the bugs.

We had to cancel our trip to PA for my brother in laws funeral. We have about a foot of snow here and they have ice. Not traveling route 81 in that stuff.

Carol, I am so sorry that you couldn't make your trip to PA to honor your brother in law but it's a wise decision. Our son and his wife is in central Illinois and it's the worst winter there for many years. The snow seemed to be tapering off before this year.

We are still buried here just North of Indy. The winds howled all night and the drifts are tall. We had all the kids and grandkids staying with us so DW and I retreated to the Monty to give them room . That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Looking for the snow plow to come down our road sometime today so we can get out if we need to, otherwise we are warm and comfy and dreaming of SPRING!!

Our winds howled most the night. My husband said all he seen on the way home was some snowmobiles no other cars. He said the east/west road he takes was barely passable. He was glad to be home. He left early today and said the roads were all cleared since the wind died down. We received about 10"...today the kids are home from school. Sure hope Spring is coming soon!

Vickie that was just mean! We've got it here in Ohio, too. We got at least a foot of snow and were under level 3 snow emergency all day yesterday. Freezing rain on top of the snow and then more snow. Today? Right now my thermometer says -8.
Third day in a row no school. Yep, it's all fun here. Sure wish I were walking the beach with you.

Sorry, Sandy ... after all our years in snow and ice, I just couldn't resist.

To all of you poor folks dealing with this horrible, horrible winter ... I truly hope that one day you'll also be able to take your Montana far, far away from all that nasty white stuff and enjoy a walk on the beach or a sunrise in the desert.

Please be careful out in the nasty stuff ... we don't want to hear about any snow/ice-related accidents!
