new, new,new

I've been lurking for awhile, but decided to jump in. I/we started thinking about a "trailer" of some sort when we retire (18 months & counting). We discovered the Montana at an RV Show & it was love at first sight! WOW! Sure beats the tents I had for 20+ years camping with the kids!

My dream is to full-time for a couple of years, volunteering and workkamping along the way. Hubby thought I was crazy, but the lure of fishing in Alaska & Canada turned him around in about 20 minutes!!! Plus, I agreed to do all the towing, set up, etc. (Hey, I do most everything at home anyway.....what's new?)

Thanks for the great information on the forum.

Susan

Susan, welcome to MOC! Sounds like you are making your husband a deal he simply cannot resist—how can he go wrong?! Marsha truly shares the work with set up and take down, but I would like to get her to learn to tow the Montana, just in case something were to happen to me!

Wow, you REALLY want to fulltime. Congratulations on your new dream. I predict your hubby will fall in love with the lifestyle once you start living it and be willing to help. I know that happened with us.

Susan, welcome to MOC and congratulations on joining the Montana clan. I've been helping hubby with set up and "breaking camp", and one of these days I am going to try towing the Montana - straight stretches of highway, of course. I used to tow stock trailers, so not totally unfamiliar with that job. Keep us posted as your dream unfolds. Safe travels.

Welcome, Susan! Just jump in with any questions or advice you want to offer.

Like you, we figured we'd fulltime for "a couple of years", then we'd probably be bored or tired of it. We're a couple of months past that two year mark and now figure we need five or six more years.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome Susan, we're all glad you decided to jump in!!! As they say you go girl or something like that, you have taken the "Bull by the Horns" and I hope it becomes infectious with Maureen! She certainly does more than her share for sure but everytime I suggest she get behind the wheel I get this look of PANIC!!! We have all been there at some point. Keep us posted.
