It's hot!
Both AC's running most of the time, Magna Shades on the South, Window Awnings and the main Awning on the East and West. 100 degree actual temperature (118 heat index) but the rig never got above 79. Guess we're ready for the swamp in South Georgia in about a month and a half

Would like to do that! We're traveling with others though so I'll have to suggest it and see what happens.

Dick, with a 118 degree heat index I would say your unit is cooling as good as can be expected. If you could keep it down to 72 or 73 degrees you would probably faint every time you walked outside!

Couldn't have taken that. It was hard to take when you came in covered in sweat at 79.

Just the opposite problem, get up in the morning, have to turn on the furnace or fireplace. Sitting out for "happy hour" usually have to have a sweat shirt. Here till mid September.

Northern VA was 90 today with lots of sun. Monty stayed at 77 (that's what I've set the thermostat for while in our driveway) with the awning out, one AC, and on a 15 amp extension cord. Haven't put all the window insulation pieces in, just letting it sit. No problem.

Ok, I've got to ask - where are you guys that have cool temps in July?? I'd love to know so I can plan my summers there! I've got a heat intolerance from my military days and living in middle GA I am pretty much house bound 5 months of the year due to the heat.... Would love to find a place I can be out and about most of the year.
Thanks!

Rocky Mountains! We're in Grand Lake, so much the same as Jim & Darlene at Steamboat Lakes. Love the fireplace in the mornings, although I've been buying a fair amount of propane.

Was about 44 in Gunnison, Co this morning, afternoon was 82. About 7700' You can go on up to Taylor Park, 30 miles north of here, 9400' and it will be mid 30's-low 40's and mid 70's during the day. We spent 3 summers there but the altitude was getting to be a problem so we came down to 7700'.
Palisades Senior Park. 55+, 60 sites, need to make reservations a year in advance. Gunnison, Co.
Colorado Dream Ranch is @ Taylor Park. There are several NFS campgrounds if yu like to forest camp. Most stay full. Reserve a year out.

Jim and Anna,
I do not know your RV style, but we are full time and like to volunteer. This is our second year at Steamboat Lake and both times, they needed more maintenance volunteers. They have 3 pads with full hookups and a drop dead view. Right now, we are the only ones here. Twenty hours a week each and we love it. Darlene does 16 hours in a fee booth and four at the visitors center. I have done a LOT of painting, some re-wiring of the amphitheater and right now am working on a 70 year old cabin--staining the walls and ceiling--replacing windows and painting the frames. If you volunteer at all, this is the place to do it. Great people to work with and you are appreciated.
The past 3 mornings, I have seen FROST on the grass and flowers. I can hardly believe it. I have never seen frost in July in my life and I am an old man. Daytime temperatures are usually in the 70's--once in a while 80's.

I camped at Union Pass Wy last year 9300 feet. There was frost every morning in August. The streams are all full of brook trout. Nice!!

I'm writing these down - they sound perfect! My husband is second-guessing his retirement date because he gets bored on the weekends - some projects or a maintenance job would be right up his alley!
Thanks Jim & Darlene, Lynwood, Jim, and Bud & Susie!!! Great info!
