Having just bought back my 07 327 from my son, I went down to SC to bring it back to Va.long story short, had two blow outs and only one spare so here I am reading your opinions. Whether it was from age, rot, speed etc. dosen't matter. I want to learn what I can before ordering 4 new tires.

A couple of questions involving the G614.
1. What rims/wheels are you using and at what pressure? The Goodyear web site states;
"This tire requires a special high-load capacity wheel and high-pressure tire valve. Consult wheel manufacturer for proper application."
Will the factory rims handle these tires or should I look elsewhere?

Thanks,
Chris

Your rims should have the pressure rating stamped on the inside of one of the spokes. Chances are your '07 is rated for 80 PSI. Check the axle rating on the sticker in the front left corner of the rig. If it is 6000 lb., you may be able to use LT tires. If the axle rating is 7000 or above, then you're going to need to consider something more. G614's are a nice option, but expensive, and you may not need that much. An LT tire would be an upgrade over the tires you currently have.

Just installed a new set of (4) G Rated Geostar G574 ST235/85R16 W/Warranty from Americas Tire for $1008.00 out the door on our 2014 3900FB. Very impressed with the tread, overall heavy duty build and weight of the Geostars. Sold our Marathons on Craigslist for $300.00 in two days.

UPDATE-as stated earlier in this topic,I had Carlisle tires put on my trailer-238/85r/16 load range F@95LBS PSI.I have 1200 miles on them from our last trip and there was no trouble and wear is even without any cupping or feathering that was happening on my Marathons.Time will tell,nice to be able to relax and not worry about tire problems.
